The cottage we stayed in was lovely but needed one or two things added to make it perfect. Unless you are fit and have dry weather a car is a must. Fortunately we are and did but it takes a good half hour to walk up steep roads from the bus stop to the cottage. This was not made clear. Also a welcome pack would have been nice.  And a couple of baking trays useful. Apart from that the beds were comfy, shower good and views that made it all worth while. I would definitely recommend the cottages to friends who want to take their car. But the best way to see the island is on foot and public transport. It’s brilliant! May is perfect. I will always remember the sea, yellow gorse and bluebells….and friendly people. 

Clean and comfortable.  Beautiful views in quiet countryside. A car essential if you’re not a fit walker.

We stayed here for 4 nights in July 2018 in the Cherry Cottage, myself, my wife and our two kids. House was comfortably sized for us and had all the necessary facilities with the notable exception of WiFi which to be honest I didn’t even check to see if they had it when I booked because I assumed everywhere now did. 

The location is so quiet with rabbits running round the nearby fields and an absolutely great sea view. Was just about a mile outside Laxey and proved to be a convenient location for getting round the island.  

Great stay - quiet location

We stayed recently in the Dolls House only. 

+ very well equipped
+ cute and cosy
+ great views and central on island
+ some nice updated stylish interior

- Not having blackout blinds on the Velux ceiling windows in the bedroom really ruined sleep for us, as soon as the sun came up we could not sleep any further :-( this for us is a pet hate in any place we stay as we both struggle with light when trying to sleep and this is the primary reason we have scored lower. Almost a 3 in fact for this and the below
- bathroom mould, whilst a decent bathroom, we felt it needed a deep clean. The tile grout above the toilet had module spores which just needed a wipe and also the mould gives appearance of being dirtier. we did not feel it had been cleaned that well, especially around the tiles near toilet/ floor level

The above two negative weighed our score down but are simple fixes.

Dolls House , not for the light sensitive 

We stayed in the Cherry Cottage, which sleeps 4, it was so lovely, and decorated to a high standard and was very clean. We had a beautiful view of Laxey Bay and enjoyed the peace! 
The cottage had everything we needed and was a delightful place to stay. There was tea/coffee/ drinking chocolate on arrival and we were also provided with chocolates and fresh flowers.
Very happy with our Easter Weekend break. We would highly recommend the cottages and will definitely be returning! It was close to Laxey and Ramsey. Thank you to all involved in making our stay comfortable :)

What more can I say? Outstanding property, impeccably maintained and the most gracious hosts you can imagine. This was our second trip to the Isle of Man, the first visit we stayed at the Waterfront Apartments (LOVELY) and this time we chose another of their properties. We will be back. Thank you Tracy!

A true home away from home

"Ballachrink Farm Cottages" is a very well presented, small complex of modernised farm buildings. Our cottage (Holly Cottage) was very comfortable, very well equipped and all on one level which was ideal for my 87 year old mother. We could also park right outside our patio door (for free) so Mum didn't even have to risk the steps to the front. Having driven well up into the countryside from Laxey on the coast, to reach Ballachrink, I thought the sea view promised must have been wishful thinking but I couldn't have been more wrong. We had a beautiful panoramic view of Laxey bay right out of our living room window. Breathtaking.

Initially we struggled to find Ballachrink, despite the directions provided and our sat-nav. So the property could definitely be better, more prominently sign-posted. We'd driven past it twice. We'd also have appreciated wi-fi in a property of this quality in this day and age.
