OYO 153 L&M Hotel

We stumbled upon this place when our previously booked accommodations turned out to be a nightmare and were very happy we found it! The room was bright, spacious and clean; the bed very comfortable. The TV, hot water and A/C worked great. The only con to this hotel was a smell of sewer in the bathroom (as is common in this area of the world), however the bathroom door was well sealed so no odor came into the room (had we brought it up to their attention they might've fixed this but it wasn't a big enough issue for us to bother). The room was also nice and quiet at night, with great blackout curtains, while the windows cut out a surprising amount of noise given we were facing the busy main street and only on the 2nd floor! The family who owns this hotel is lovely, they were all so friendly and helpful (even though they couldn't all speak English, but still found ways to communicate :) The free breakfast was great, with tea and coffee, watermelon and bananas or bread (depending on the morning), and 3 different main meals (most were Asian dishes, but delicious!). The hotel is a 5 mins walk to the night market, and about 20 mins walk to Long Beach. There are many stores and restaurants just outside the door, and it's a great place to spend a couple night in the city before venturing out to stay further away from the bustle of the town and closer to the beach. Would definitely stay again if we got the chance!
