I had a business trip to Nukus and stayed in Massaget for 3 nights. It's a new hotel with small clean rooms, high speed Wi-Fi and a TV with local and Russian channels. Breakfast is served and is part of the price (cheese, sousage, fried eggs, jam, dairy products, etc.). There is A/C so it is cool even if you travel during the summer. The owner, a lady who is very polite and speaks good English, will show you courtesy if something is needed. The walls are ornamented with traditional Karakalpak embroidery.

Average, budget hotel with polite staff

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful however their English skills were low. The breakfast was different each morning, but there was no choice. Massaget is located within walking distance from most interesting sights and within a 10-minute walk there are several different options for dinner. The wifi is slow and not working in all rooms, the shower did not work at all times of day, mainly because of low water pressure.

Clean, but average level of comfort

I woke up this morning to little black ants crawling on the sheets around me (see pic). I had squashed a few in my sleep. I was relieved these were not bed bugs and checked out. 
Add to this a trickle of water at the shower, 20 mn of wifi for the whole evening and a really bad breakfast.
My advice: avoid.

Ants in my bed! I was not impressed

Massaget Hotel was the WORST hotel I've visited in Central Asia. 

We booked 2 double rooms, in person, two days ahead of our planned stay. 

When we booked the rooms we were quoted a rate of $50 USD per room bit when we arrived they tried to charge us $70. 

We arrived at 4 pm and were told only 1 of the rooms was ready. We went to drop our bags in the "ready" room and discovered the beds weren't made. 

The beds were rock hard, the shower head was broken and sprayed everywhere, the wifi was painfully slow (even for Uzbek standards), the breakfast buffet was horrible, the staff were not very helpful or accommodating.
