Rojo y Negro Hostel - Posada

We liked everything about this place. We had 2 beds in the 8 bed dorm, and there was only one other guy. The other rooms seemed to have couples and families so a nice mix of people. Everything was clean and like new. Breakfast was cereal, milk, wheat bread for toast, butter, jams, coffee, tea and fresh juices. Easy walk to beaches, cafes and shops. Excellent kitchen, common areas and pool!

Christina and Raphaela are amazing hosts, so friendly!

Rojo y Negro is a breath of fresh air in the hostel scene in Uruguay. Geared towards families and couples, it is modern, clean, and hosted by a lovely mother and daughter team. Rooms are spacious and have clean, memory foam mattresses. Dual sinks, lockers for storage, great Wi-Fi, and a clothesline outside your room for laundry are some of the amenities. There is also a new pool on the premises, with lawn chairs and a BBQ for use. During our stay, rooms were serviced with new towels and soaps, toilet paper when needed. Shampoo is not provided.

The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need for cooking your meals with a small grocery store called El Dorado right down the street in easy walking distance.

You can find this gem in the La Barra neighborhood approximately 5 miles from Punta Del Este. Go to the Punta Del Este bus terminal. Take the #14 bus to the second stop after crossing the unique ribbon bridge. It is a short walk from the bus stop.

We enjoyed our time here very much and highly recommend this accommodation. The only negatives we would anticipate is a busy kitchen during the high season. During some of our stay, when we were the only guests, I felt "in the way" while cooking lunches and dinners, alongside the staff.

It's a modern hostel in "shipping-container style". There are private rooms with bathroom, besides the usual shared accomodations. Quiet and safe neighbourhood, but no parking space. Private rooms are spacious and clean, with minimalist and smart furniture. The lady in charge is extremely helpful and friendly. Liked very much.

We stay here 2-3 times a year for Work and injoy it every time. 



This is a simple but very relaxing and CLEAN hostel.   I specially recomend the green juice offered for breakfast, delicious!

Very well located in La Barra - walking distance from Ruta 10 but far enough to be in a quiet and relaxing environment.
