The Pines Cottages

This is a charming cabin. Quiet, peaceful, and our pup was welcomed. It was nice to have a home feeling while staying here.

I had an amazing stay at The Pines Cottages!! Rebecca was extremely helpful and very nice!! I’m looking forward to my next stay, which is coming up soon!!

Love the mountain cottage feel, with proximity to local area. Privacy, lovely porch with a rural feel, with perfect amenities. Helpful and kind staff.

For my first trip to the Asheville area, the Pines Cottages was the warm welcome I didn't know I needed. The cabin was quaint and peaceful wirb outdoor space for everyone (pets too), and the friendly faces just made the experience even more the merrier!

I found  The Pines while searching for a cabin in Asheville NC
online. I was celebrating my Girlfriend birthday and wanted to get away and into the woods. We both had a great time everything was close or within minutes to stores or downtown Asheville. The Staff was amazing especially Rebecca! She was a big part of our stay she was so helpful with everything! I will be back for another stay in one of the many very clean and cozy  cottages.

We have used the pine cottages many times and have loved them. Sweet space with the nicest staff.

These cottages are so cozy and perfect.  Some were built in 1929, so they are mostly older, which I can appreciate.  My grandson and I went just after Christmas 2024.  We stayed in cottage #2.  It was perfect.  The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was rustic, which I loved.  There was a tiny metal cupboard, that reminded me of something my grandmother used to have in her home.  However, the kitchen had a microwave, full refrigerator and gas stove.  The bathroom is tiny, especially the shower, but it was fine.  The tiles on the bathroom walls were the same kind we had in our home when I was growing up.  The cottage is heated by a gas furnace, which heats up quickly.  The manager helped us with a place to eat.  She was on point with her recommendation.  We were only about 20 minutes from our adventure of snow tubing and didn't have to get into any of the Asheville traffic.  

If you are looking modern, this is not the place for you.  However, if you appreciate, simple and nostalgia from your childhood, this is definitely the place.

The staff was the friendliest that we have ever had at any stay! The cottage was cute! It rained a lot so we were not able to use the many beautiful common areas but they have it set so nice!

Terrific place to stay for a private and quiet escape near Asheville but away from the chaos.  The rooms and cottages have been recently refreshed and the colors and furnishings are even cuter than the website photos show.  The bed and bedding were very comfortable and new.  Numerous areas to sit outside and enjoy the quiet.  Great spot for dogs as well.  This far exceeded our expectations and has so much more to offer than you can get from the website description.  Truly a hidden gem.

Love the Pines Cottages

Cozy and comfy

The cabin was a perfect choice for my dog and I.  My dog enjoyed being able to walk around the property without being confined to a hotel with hallways and elevators.  Even though the cabins are situated close to some major roads they provided ear plugs and a noise machine to drown out the road noise.  I didn’t have a problem with the noise, but if I had they thought of everything to help out.  The cabin was sufficiently stocked to be able to cook meals or grill out.  Perfect location to visit Asheville or the National Forest, great little towns nearby for restaurants, bakeries and groceries.  Hoping to plan another trip in the fall.

Stay here if you are a person who prefers the local cafe to a national chain.  It is charming and has character.  Clean, comfortable, private, lots of space.  The staff is unbelievably helpful and friendly. Also exceptionally dog friendly. If you are a person who objects to wood floors that look their age or choses a hotel for its art work, go stay in a chain.  This is the place we will come back to again and again.

Comfy, comfy, comfy. We were in #16.  3 bedrooms.  Very large livingroom.  Large kitchen.  We were 3 adults and it was great.
Perfect for a family.  Some complaints about the property was noise from the highway.  We didn't hear it.  But they do leave ear plugs in each bedroom just in case.  Highlight of our 3 day visit was meeting Hugo.  Great to have a conversation with on any subject.  Hope you get a chance to meet him.  Used to live in #16. Now just roams around the property. Did I mention he's a cat?  Enjoy. 

Comfy.

This is THE CUTEST place to stay!!! It’s in a peaceful, park like setting with the nicest cottages. Everything is well kept. Our cottage had a small kitchen with pots and pans to cook meals with a stove, fridge, toaster, microwave and coffee maker. There were plenty of dishes to serve up the meals and all types of glasses for drinks, even wine glasses. It’s an older place but EVERYTHING was spotless!!! Rebecca and Jennifer were so helpful and friendly! Hugo, the mouser cat was AWESOME!!! He made me one of his friends right away! My husband and I are planning to make a trip up in the Fall. I can hardly wait!!!

Awesome Retreat!!!

The Pines Cottages are exactly what we hoped: quaint, comfortable, quiet and very much like the forested cottages we stayed in as children, when visiting the mountains with our parents. Our cottage, #6, was spotless with plenty of towels, soaps, shampoo, coffee, and more.  Management could not have been nicer or more accommodating.  We were so comfortable, we extended our stay to a week. There are wonderful restaurants and groceries and shops nearby. The original cottages have been preserved. I hope to stay here again.

Authentic & Charming Place to Stay

King size bed was very comfortable, I slept like a baby even though the cottage is right next to the highway. Cozy and cute with all necessities in the kitchen and bathroom.  It's rustic so the floor is not level, the shower stall is very small, I don't recommend it for larger people, my husband and I are were fine with it though.  Plenty of hot water and strong water pressure.  Very pet friendly, we would definitely stay here again. Staff were very friendly, professional, and accommodating.

Cozy, rustic, comfortable

Had a really great and enjoyable stay at the Pine Cottages! This place is a cute, rustic series of cabins which are a wonderful mountain alternative to a cookie-cutter hotel. Most are small and designed for 2-3 people, but I stayed in the main house (now Cabin 16) which was a three bedroom stand alone with full kitchen and living room with gas fireplace. Large front porch and a fire pit in the front yard were nice benefits. Only 5 mins from UNC-Asheville and 10-15 mins from downtown Asheville. Beds were comfy and the units were older (as you would expect in a Cabin lodge that has been around since the 30's) but extremely well kept and cleaned which resulted in a really charming place and a great experience. Not ideal for walkaround nightlife of Asheville based on location but still pretty convenient for a more getaway type visit.
