My husband and I stayed here for a 2 night getaway and it was the perfect.  I loved that it was renovated in the minimalistic, modern and clean style.  During these times, it is necessary to feel like you are comfortable in your environment, and our room felt especially clean.  

The location is perfect for hitting the RI beaches.

Very comfy king bed. Excellent big screen TV with Netflix. Enjoyed having the mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Lots of hot water. Lots of light in the unit. Good cross-breeze with windows in bedroom and bathroom if you don't want AC. Very close to Sandy's Fine Foods, where you can load up the mini-fridge.

I had a marvelous stay here. Looking back through these reviews, the only negative ratings/comments are prior to the new ownership (when it was still the Sand Dollar). If you were familiar with the old property, you wouldn't recognize it now. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. The rooms are completely renovated and gorgeous, literally everything is brand new. The beds are probably better than mine at home, divine ! By far the best accommodations I've found in Westerly anywhere close to this price range. Location is close to both Watch Hill and Misquamicut beaches and a quick shot to Charlestown. The Manager, Jim, is so friendly and pleasant to deal with. I will definitely return anytime I'm in Westerly.

This place was great!   Outside looks like a Motel but when you step inside you will be surprised at how nice it is.  It was perfect for a girls night.   It is  on a main road but set back and quiet and  about 10 min to the beach.  The service was great!  The best part was how comfortable the beds were.  Everything is brand new.  I will come again.

We had the Luxury room 2 queen size beds.  Both were comfortable and the pillows were great. It did look like the room was recently renovated and looked very well done.  Staff was very friendly and attentive.  Towels were the softest we have found.

Not what we were expecting

Old style motor lodge that has recently been renovated in what I would describe as "hospital modern".  Lots of grey and white tile with blue accents.  Down sides include, no place to put ANYTHING in the bath or shower.  Absolutely no shelves or counter space.  Shampoo and stuff has to be put on the shower floor.  Also, no suitcase stands or closet poles to open or hang your belongings.  It seems like they spent all their remodeling money on the walls and floor and ran out of cash.  And, there is almost no sound proofing between rooms.  We could hear even normal conversations from the next room. Up sides, there's a nice large flat screen TV and very good wifi. Might work for a one night stay if traveling thru.

Clean, cheap but wouldn't recommend

My husband and I stayed at The Coast this past weekend - one night.  It does look like it is being renovated but we do have a few suggestions for the owner.   The shades did not entirely fit the windows so at night we didn't feel secure especially with no curtains or such to help.  Also we had a room with 2 queen beds - one of the beds had stains on the sheets and also had sand left over from the previous guests stay we believe since it was on top of the bed linen.  We were happy there was another option to sleep for the night in the other bed.  The room only had one waste basket and it was in the front area and not the bathroom which was annoying to have to keep coming out of the bathroom to throw items away. 
We do have to say that the renovations are nice but cleanliness was a bit of an issue which may impact us coming back in the future.

Even though everything looks new, it's kind of dirty. The room where I stayed the walls were all dirty.and the whole room smells smoke. The kid that took care the place was really nice though. The place is good just to sleep. It just need a little bit of care.

Good enough!!

We requested a refund after just seeing the “villa” which was virtually a shed they put a bed, bathroom, and couch in. I’m not sure how this place can charge this price for such terrible accommodations. When we opened the door we weren’t pleased but were going to just make the best of it. But once I noticed the stains on the bedspread and then pulled the bedspread back to find stains that resembled blood or feces on the sheets we quickly grabbed our stuff and made reservations at another hotel. This place is terrible.
