I live at the Sand's Motel in Portales. They have a reasonable weekly rate. When I checked in I was on foot with two bags and was severely disabled with a lower back injury and needed a comfortable bed to rest in. All of their rooms have been completely remodeled. ... The housekeeping is superb. I had a serious diarrhea accident a few weeks ago. I called the front desk, explained what happened. They told me to strip my bed, put the soiled bedding outside the front door, then two family members came in within 5 minutes and I had a clean fresh bed for the night. This was after housekeeping was done for the day. This family, the owners, are very, very professional, and always treat me with kindness and respect. Great location for me, my back healed on their wonderful bed, and I can get food, Dollar Stores, etc... Just by taking a short walk.
