Very hospitable
I brought my own Jet Ski and had an excellent dock on-premise.
We took one of the 'cottages' and it was lovely. 
The owner is responsive and, overall, highly recommended. 



I love this place. My family has been going for a while.  Service is great food is the best. Family run business so they are very welcoming. Beds are great clean no bugs . They have docks for boats. Great Lake view. Fun for kids. Close to Bolton landing and the village. Also close to Great Escape and other fun things.

Had a very nice dinner and drinks. Had a party of 8 and were easily accommodated. Had pork chops and mashed potatoes, salmon and stuffed shells pasta dish. Plenty to eat. Recommend and will visit again.

The property itself is perfect.  Right on the water.  We were able to keep our kayak at our cabin and launch it directly on the beach.  The mornings were nice to enjoy a coffee and look at the water and at night it was nice to light a fire in the fire pit and enjoy the evening.  The cabins are in need of updating however.  Our dining table was three plastic outdoor chairs and a table nailed to the wall.  There was a very uncomfortable coach in the living room and I was afraid of putting a hole in the bottom of the tub.  It was mushy.   But if you stayed in the loft as your bedroom you had a wonderful view of the water.

Lodge house run down and very bare bones. Would not recommend. Owner very hard to communicate with re reservations and once there not very friendly. Not even a pot of coffee in the morning. The family has owned the property since 1969.  Too bad they haven’t honored the setting with a better visitor experience.

I love old rustic lodges, restaurants etc.  To me it's like going to heaven.  I would much rather stay in an old rustic facility than a glitzy brand new hotel. Just thinking about such a place puts me in a happy relaxing state.  

I can only attest to the room and experience that I had.  I stayed in the lodge on the back side overlooking the lake.  Ok, so there were trees in the way.  It did have a large open deck all across the back that had a table and chairs and was relaxing.  

There are other buildings and rooms but I have no knowledge of what they're like. 

The room.  Once you open the door and take a step you're hitting the bed. There was enough room to walk down the side of the bed between the wall.  There was enough room to walk between the foot of the bed and the "dresser." There was a small lamp on top of the dresser. There was a small tv like what I had in my kitchen back in the 80's.  The bed was actually two twin beds put side by side. The bathroom was ok. 

I sleep with a CPAP.  There were no outlets at the head of the bed so I had to put my head at the foot of the bed and my feet at the head of the bed in order to plug in the CPAP.  

So after a long hard week I like to relax on the weekend.  And have a drink or two. (or more)  This beautiful building was built in the 1880's.  So the floors are not level.  I never had to hit the bar because everywhere I walked I staggered like a drunk.  

i know this place is in a resort area and you 'd expect to pay top dollar but I can't say this was a good value.  

There was a real nice breakfast included in the room.  I really enjoyed it.  

But overall, you be the judge.

We've been staying here for years and years - Always for the location - for the beautiful lakefront view of Lake George  - for the ability to have from 5 to upwards of 25+ friends and family at the same time and place !!  But - never really for the accommodations, because they weren't that important, as long as they were clean and everything worked, nothing broken, just the bare minimum was always okay with us, it's about the lake after all - But now everything has changed - there was a time when the place was well cared for - the large lawn and beautiful flowers - hummingbird feeders busy with wonderful hummingbirds all the time - the sandy beach (small) but raked clean every day and marked so small children could play safe and sound - another section of rows of chairs - also raked and cared for - chairs back in the their place at dusk, ready for the next day - tons of sturdy dock space - also always safe and cared for - tons of help - speaking minimal English - but friendly and busy making sure guests were properly taken care of - There is a restaurant for breakfast and dinners (most nights) also once properly staffed - Alas - those days have come to an end, in every way imaginable - this family lost the heart and soul of this property when a family member passed away - they have never recovered - They face now what many of us face - but I won't share their personal hardships - I only wish one day that a miracle happens - that they once again they find the peaceful harmony and tranquility that for a long time surrounded them and this property - if and when they do - we will be back - We all wish them the strength and endurance that it's going to take - We hope they come to love this place again, as we always have and always will - We will miss the days of old Northern Lake George Resort very much.

It's like this...........

We booked NLGR last minute and were put in the "motel" building near the road. I thought, "how bad could it be, it's a resort!"
Well, bad is an understatement. The lodge building where you check in has so many dead animals hung that it's like a scene from a haunted movie. I used the restroom there while we waited 20 minutes for someone to find Dave. He is the only person that can check you in.  The restroom was on the 2nd floor and at the end of a long, dark, dingy, smelly hallway...a communal bathroom and showers. Ugh!

I hoped our room was going to be brighter and I was right. It was brighter but I wish I couldn't see how awful it was.  It was supposedly cleaned before we arrived but when I put my bag on the bed there were cobwebs going from both sides of the blanket to each wall. It seemed like there hadn't been anyone there in weeks. 
Surprisingly the bathroom was the nicest part of the whole room which was like a shoebox. There's dark, dirty paneling, orange fiberglass drapes from the 60s-70s, which are multi color from fading due to the small amount of sun that shines on them. A/C is controlled by the management so it was also very warm for us, and the walls are so thin you can hear the next room breathing. 
The blanket had large watermark-like stains. The tv was old and no cable that worked. The small fridge was so old the shelf inside was rusted. Surely no food or drink was going in there. I was reminded of an episode of Criminal Minds where there was no escape and the couple were killed and eaten. 

It was a pet friendly place but that's all it has to offer.  We stayed only because we were desperate and we arrived late in the day. I expected more because it's a "resort". They do have some kind of restaurant there but it also looked dirty and just awful, and It cost us $140.  NOT WORTH $20.

It's a dirty little secret...NOT a Resrt of any kind !!

Dave would not give me a room due to the fact that I have seizures. He said he didn't want ambulances at his resort. He was very rude on the phone, wasn't professional. He sounded like he had been drinking while he was working
