HI New York City - Hostel 

A great stay in the most affordable accommodation I could find for a solo trip to NYC, an easy 2-minute walk from 103rd Street #1 subway station. I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm and appreciated the privacy curtains on the beds, the individual charging port, and large locker for my things- make sure to bring your own lock. Sheets, a towel and blanket are also provided. The hostel was very clean, and most of my fellow travellers were considerate when coming in late at night, although there's always a few that don't know how to be quiet or close a door gently, and you can hear people thumping across the floors above- so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The bathroom was generally very clean, although they need more than 3 sinks in each, to enable easier handwashing, especially in the morning/ late at night. It was always nice to get in after a day in the cold- but a cap on the heating would be good- a girl in my room the first 2 nights kept putting it up to 77- it was boiling! I really appreciated the reasonable prices in the cafe- it was a great place to get breakfast or grab a late night sandwich- I recommend the chipotle chicken panini! All in all I would happily return for a city break, given the price of hotels in Manhattan.
