The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection 

We read all the bad reviews and was mentally prepared for the worst. But turned out we had a great stay at this Lexington Hotel. Yes, there was long line during check in but we came during the peak check in time and it's moving fast. 4 of 5 elevators were working perfectly fine, so we didn't experience a long line to get to the elevator, most of the time we were there, there wasn't any line. We stayed on the 10th floor. The room is small as other New York hotels, but we still have space to set up a twin air mattress for our small daughter as she didn't want to be in the King Size bed with us. The bed is very comfortable, room is clean and the housekeeping clean it everyday. Bathroom indeed is small, but again it's clean, no mold and all amenities work well (no slow drain, no roaches, flush working ok, shampoo, conditioner and soap are available). We asked for extra towel, toothpaste and shaving cream, and the housekeeping delivered it in no time. There is no coffee machine in the room, but you can request it, they will provide and deliver it to your room for no extra charge. You can also get free bottle water that you can pick up on the small convenience store by the check in area. If you are a light sleeper, yes the noises will bother you. You can hear your neighbor opening/closing their door, sometimes you can hear they talk in the isle, the AC/heater rattle a bit. We understand this is an old hotel that come with all the noises. All the staff are friendly, highly dedicated and will go extra miles to help. The housekeeping ladies on our floor are so nice and friendly. The bellman also very nice and helpful with our luggage. There is storage as well if you want to store your luggage before check in or after check out, there is $3/bag charge and they only accept cash payment. Location is great. Just few blocks walk to Rockefeller Center, Grand Central, Time Squares, 5th Avenue, etc. There is Starbucks also on the first floor. But if you like other than Starbucks there is also Ole & Steen Cafe across from the hotel. There are also many good restaurant within walking distance, from Pizza, Burgers to Italian, Mediterranean, steak house and many more. We will come back to stay in this hotel.
