While traveling, we needed an inexpensive place to stay and decided to take a chance on Rodeway Inn. We were given a handicap room which provided a larger bathroom and plenty of empty floor space. This was a very basic, functional room, but it was clean and comfortable which was all we needed for the night. The shower had great water pressure, although the bathroom door would not close. There was a TV with cable and local channels as well as a fridge, small microwave and desk.  We should have asked for extra towels since only one bath towel was provided with two washcloths, a hand towel and a bath mat.
The air conditioner worked well and the drapes closed all the way for privacy.

Clean and Functional

This Rodeway Inn used to be a Motel 6. It’s a bare minimum motel. The first room I got, the refrigerator didn’t work, nor did the TV remote. I complained and they switched me to a better room. The place was worth what I paid for it, which was nothing (I used reward points). It’s about what you’d expect on the low end of the price scale. The room was small. Not a lot of elbow room. It wasn’t terrible, nor was it wonderful. It could use a little better maintenance. Also, the grounds were kind of trashy. The guy at the front desk was nice, and did his best to be helpful, though I had a hard time understanding him. I would stay there again, but I wouldn’t go around bragging about it. 


About What You'd Expect For A Lower Priced Motel

I came here after a night of total mistreatment by a neighboring Marriott property.  The customer service was friendly, fast, and efficient.  They had a room available despite the fact that I was checking in at noon since my car broke down on the interstate..

The room was dated but clean,  The shower was hot and the bed was comfortable.  The place won't win any architectural awards but I was very happy with the service provided and the accommodations.

If they would update things they would get better reviews but the room was good enough for one comfortable night..

Great Customer Service, Adequate Overnight Accommodations

DO you remember continental breakfast of the old -- OJ, coffee and donuts.... hey, you can find them breakfast here!!!! like using a time machine!!!! other than this.... typical Rodeway Inn -- cheap place to come late, sleep, get donut and coffee and... move on... do not expect more... but -- maybe this is enough... for the price... (cheap price)

Old Former Motel 6 with Drive-Up Rooms . Very Basic but Also Very Affordable . Room Did Have Micro/Fridge . If All You Want Is A Road Stop Motel " Cheap " Then This Roadway Inn Will Do The Job . But Remember " You Get What You Pay For " .

Low Budget Motel

STEAR CLEAR!!!!!   I understand "You get what you paid for..."  However, not fraudulent charges.  On July 6th, We booked a ONE NIGHT for $56.99 plus tax.  Received confirmation and email showing the 1 night stay.  The front desk requested our credit card and now that we are back, we have received 2 more charges to our account with an adjustment to our original reservation was altered.   Calling the hotel is useless, for they do not answer.  I have contacted Choice Hotel Reservations support, where we booked on line under our membership and surprisingly enough, Choice can not refund money but can award points and only reward points based off of the original reservation.  DO NOT STAY AT THE RODE WAY INN in HAYS, KS and If you do.....GOOD LUCK!

THE WORTS EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!

Thieving Employee, Dirty Floors, Stinking Room - Don't risk your safety by staying at Rodeway Inn / Choice Hotels in Hays, KS. Rodeway Inn / Choice Hotels employee broke into my room and stole my bag, clothes, electronic equipment, and personal items. The owner told me he would not help me nor reimburse me for my items his employee stole. The owner rudely told me to call the police and take care of the theft myself. I contacted the parent company, Choice Hotels and they said they wouldn't help me and that I needed to work things out with the hotel owner. I filed a police report and met with a police officer. The police officer informed me that the Rodeway Inn hotel has the most crime of any hotel in Hays, KS and the police department is very familiar with this hotel. Regarding the hotel, it is the least expensive hotel in Hays, and I discovered why. The room stinks. The bed stinks. The pillows stink. The hotel provided towel stank so badly that I felt the need to step back in the shower and shower off again. Floors are dirty and will turn your socks and feet black quickly.  I knew I wasn't staying at a 5-star hotel but the employee theft, the owner's rude "customer service," the horrendous smells, the dirty floors, and the tacky room made me regret trying to save a few dollars. Don't stay here unless you want to be burgled and then have the owner berate you for being a victim.

ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES I'EVER DEALT WITH AT A HOTEL!
we checked in with at 11:30 AM ON 5/24/2021.
We checked OUT at 1:00 PM on 5/24/2021.
Why you may ask? After just 45 minutes in their beds I started to itch. Then I developed HUGE welted hives.
Dirty sheets or allergy? who knows.
I went to the front desk. The employee working was belligerent, rude, and dismissive. He insisted we'd been there since the day before, despite having been the one to check us in. He yelled at me repeatedly, and spoke to me as if I was stupid. I requested a manager, and was denied. I INSISTED to speak with a manager because I was done with this employees belligerence. He yelled at me again stating no manager was available, and refused to give me contact information for one.
Not 2 minutes later, who walks out from the back but THE MANAGER! I show him the pictures of my upper legs (where the welts were the worst), and he "agreed" to a refund. Stated it would take 2-3 business days.
Today is 5/27/2021. My bank account has been charged 3 by this hotel!
I called and asked for Dana, the manager whose card I was given, and assumed I'd talked to Monday. No Dana, but the manager from Monday, who's name I was apparently lied to about, came on the line.
He INSISTED I was wrong. That the refund was pending and I didn't know how to read my own bank statements! Luckily my banks fraud department will take this over for me.
Avoid this place at all costs.

WORST OPTION YOU COULD CHOOSE!

Sure they are the lowest hotel in hays. You get what you pay for.
The room was stuffy but it cooled down. No frills no laundry bag. No continental breakfast like what is standard in other choice hotels in Hays.
The bed might as well came from the Flintstones. It was hard and uncomfortable.
On a bright note the round shower was different and hot. The room was clean.

Avoid hotel

BEWARE DO NOT STAY HERE NEVER EVER FOR ANY REASON, let’s start off with the arrival and check in. Very suspect as people were all around drinking and smoking and the place was filthy.  They write their own reviews under anonymous to raise their ratings. Our first room was disgusting and had no a/c, the second room was worst yet, the third room was gross but we were tired. Stains, hair, dead flies on the walls and windows, no shampoo, etc etc. the Repair guy came over with a beer in his hand. I AM THE DUMB ONE FOR STAYING HERE AND NOT JUST LEAVING MY $50 behind. It gets worst. The cleaning lady was on crack or heroine and at 10 pm at nite while in bed watching TV someone comes busting thru the door. Supposedly they got the room key at check in. I went down in the morning to get a refund and a front desk person maybe 16 years old with her feet up playing on her phone said that no one was around til later. I called the place for hours and nothing. I think they blocked my number.  JUST A WARNING TO YOU, DRUGS AND CRIMINAL ACTIVITY ABOUND.
