Santa Nella House

Since our last visit to the area 8 years ago I've hoped to come back to be able to stay at The Santa Nella House. I had read about the previous owners and how wonderful they were. We knew before we planned this trip that there were new owners, so we were not surprised. What we got instead was the graciousness of this lovely old property. The house is the most comfortable, cozy place. Beautiful. I feel very fortunate to have been able to experience the warm elegance of a former time. but with modern updates. We stayed in the cottage which was perfect for us. We like breakfasting in a B&B, but wanted to be able to be by ourselves the rest of the time. The cottage is adorable. Tucked into the woods among ferns, flowers, shade ground covers. So peaceful. Loved the short walk to the house for breakfast. One night my husband sat in the spa while I went in and got us glasses of port which had been set out in the dining room. We sat by the woodfire under the redwoods and soaked it all in. Debra, the innkeeper, is wonderful. Lovely breakfast. She loves this house and wants to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The location is perfect - halfway between the coast and the Sonoma wineries.
