I come here every year as the owners are awesome people who go out of their way to make your stay there comfortable. The fishing is good and if you have questions, Adam is a professional fishermen and knows where the fish are and what they are biting on. If your planning a nice vacation of fishing and seeing the northern light display...this is a definite resort to stay at!

Awesome resort with an awesome family running it. The fishing is great and Adam makes sure he puts you on the fish. Clean cabins and a great family atmosphere. We will be back for our 3rd year in a row! Adam and Casey are great, the you tube fishing report for pelican lake keeps us all informed on what fish are being caught, water temperature and lures being used.

We had a Fantastic time at Birch Forest Lodge.  Adam and his family were great hosts.  Our cabin was very nice and 50 feet from the water. Their boats and dock area are top notch. If your fishing Adam is there to answer any questions and point out areas on the lake to fish. Cabin areas are clean and quite. Very Relaxing.  Lots of wildlife to view in the area. We stayed at Birch Forest Lodge for a week around Labor Day.  We were hoping to see northern lights (we did!), dark skies and the milky way (we did!), and catch a lot of fish (we did!). The boat we rented worked wonderfully and the quiet cove was a great place to relax at the end of the day with a beautiful sunset. We had a wonderful time and very much enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time at the Birch Forest Lodge. We chose this accommodation because of the other reviews but also the possible opportunity to be able to stargaze during a dark sky phase of the moon. And it didn't disappoint! Casey and Adam and lovely hosts. Adam was very helpful during the time I made the reservation and of course during the time we stayed. We chose to stay in Cabin 8. It has everything you need (except what they tell you to bring from home...towels, toiletries and hair dryer.) The cabin was in excellent condition, very clean, had comfortable beds, adequate amount of dishes, pans, flatware, glasses you need, etc. We're older and our purpose to be there was for the stargazing and possible sighting of the Aurora Borealis. Fortunately, the only night while we were in Minnesota that the Northern Lights decided to appear was Friday. We saw them in Duluth. Adam had photos of the same display on the same night but up at Orr, MN. He also took an incredible photo of the Milky Way and the beautiful star display with a camera way, way, way better than our iPhones could take! We got to see it in real time, but I'm so happy he shared the photo he took with me so we could remember how spectacular it was. The town of Orr is small but it has everything you need not far away from Birch Forest Lodge. Restaurants, gas station, grocery store. On the property itself, Casey and Adam have a lot of things for children to do, outdoor games, as well as the obvious lure: Pelican Lake. We're not boaters so we didn't do anything on the lake but they have boats available to rent. Other guests told us of incredible fishing expeditions. It's a popular place for that sport. The phone reception and Wi-Fi were excellent. We are on our bucket list endeavors and we're not sure we'll ever be up to Orr, MN again, but we enthusiastically and wholeheartedly recommend it to you if what you read on the website suits your needs. Our trip was wonderful and we got to experience Minnesota, the Aurora Borealis and the fabulous twinkling Dark Sky!

What's not to love with your stay at Birch Forest.  Adam takes great care of us.  Boat landing a minor problem because of low water.  3rd year for our family and made reservations for a 4th.  Cabin is clean and beautiful ❤️

The Birch Forest Lodge is fantastic.  Very laidback and quiet.  Lots of activities for everyone.  Many things included in price of accommodations.  Fishing was absolutely amazing!  We are already talking about returning next year!

Great people! Great fishing! The cabin was well set up and comfortable. The boat was super nice. Best fishing I've had in my whole life. We scheduled our next trip for next year already. We can wait to get there!

Nice and quiet family friendly.  We had poor weather, but still had a great time.  The grandkids loved the game room.  Foosball was the most popular game.  Got a lot of corn hole games in too!  Great beach and lagoon.  This is our second time and we may make it an annual family tradition!

We had a wonderful time at Birch Creek Lodge! My eight year old daughters first time bass fishing and now she’s “hooked” for life. 

I came to escape the desert heat so the clean, air conditioned cabin was very “cool”.

Oh, what a great place for a getaway, or a family reunion. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Awesome Family owned resort with great fishing!

Peaceful, Relaxing,  Fishing Vacation

Fish, stars, northern lights, and sunsets....oh my!

We loved the location and it was everything we expected it would be!

Fantastic 

This was our first time at Birch Forest Lodge and not our last!  My wife and I rented cabins 6-7-8 and invited our 2 children and their families.  We had a wonderful time and decided to repeat in 2023.  Adam is a great host, very helpful!  Our 4 grandchildren loved fishing from the dock and loved the beach and all the floatation devices.  The water by the beach is usually calm and is shallow.  Very safe for the young ones.

Great Place for Family Time

Adam, Kasey and family have done a wonderful job at preserving Birch Forest Lodge over the years and taking it to the next level.  Their care for the property’s lodge, cabins, ancillary buildings, entertainment grounds, beachfront, water-crafts and the accessory water-craft toys has set them apart from so many other resort offerings.  

From their cabin’s quintessential exterior facades to comfortable mattresses…from updated appliances to just the right placement of interior wall hooks for tossing a beach towel and cap onto after a successfully fun day on the lake, makes this resort an ideal family getaway. 

Our family enjoyed every day with what the resort offered, from fishing in newer boats, pontoons and on docks, paddle-board racing, playing on the beach-front and sandy bottom waters, kayaking during speechless sunrises, standing on the island points during stunning sunsets, playing disc golf, bocce ball, horse shoes, beanbag toss, as well as enjoying plenty of fun treats, games and souvenirs at the lodge and not least…kicking back in the hammock and frequent grilling and s’more making.

We’re already looking forward to coming back in the coming years and try out some of the other cabins as well.

Family Vacation

The lake the Birch Forest Lodge is on, is pristine, clean water, and good fishing. The Lodge fits in that profile. The cabin we were in was very clean and comfortable. The cabin concept makes you feel as if you are the only one on the lake. The sunsets are a sight to be seen. To hear the loons, see the Eagles, watch the ducks, and if you are lucky watch the beaver and mink. There is a waterfront/beach that your whole family can enjoy water sports. It is a shallow water area that kids can play and have a great experience.  The lodge/park is family run and make you feel as part of their family.

Mid-summer stay at the Birch

Our family of ten stayed at Birch Forest Lodge from July 9 to 16, 2022.  We rented the lovely Voyageur Cabin and the Black Bear Lodge Room.  We were all comfortable and felt very welcome.  The cabin was well equipped to cook for ten people.  

Adam spent time telling us how to use the beautiful new pontoon.  With ten people the fishing trips never stopped.  We caught countless delicious Bluegill, Bass, Northern Pike, and a few Crappie.

Adam and Kasey made us all feel welcome.  We all had a great time.
