Dalem's Chalet

Made an online reservation on the Dalem Chalet website for a room with two double beds for a sibling weekend. This hotel is in West Brattleboro. We arrived in the dark and the lighting outside is poor, but just continue driving deep into the parking lot to get to the office and up a flight of stairs to a very beautiful door which will leads right into the office. A very nice woman behind the counter checked us in and gave us room 22. In spite of being dated, the room was comfortable enough, old style spring mattresses but a good shower, a small front porch overlooking the front of the hotel in an area which has a slightly rural feel to it. If the hotel was to replace only its mattresses with the newer style hotel mattresses, I think most people would overlook the older style decor in the room. If you're bothered by church bells every hour on the hour, this would be a problem for a light sleeper. They're not very loud, but if you tend to tune into them once you know they're going to chime staying here may not work for you. There is no restaurant here anymore, however, it's only a mile or two from the Chelsea Royal Diner which is an excellent place to have breakfast. Overall, my sibling and I had a fine enough stay here, and it's not all that far from the center of Brattleboro.
