I left my pillow on the 18th day our road trip. I’ve learned that my pillow makes any motel perfect. I didn’t realize til we’d traveled to Quartzite to stand up for our nephew & his bride at their wedding. I called. They found it. I’m happy & grateful for this very important service.

Very Important Service.

I paid for 2 nights right at the motel.I requested the AAA rate, which the website quotes at 10% off the standard. I was told it would be $75 a night with tax. I questioned that, remembering the website said the standard rate was $67, which should have made the AAA rate $57. The man at the desk said the rest was taxes. Unfortunately, I didn't check that until the next day, when I discovered the transient occupancy taxes come to less than 10%, or about $6 a night. Went back to the motel office, was told I was charged $69, (more than the standard rate listed on the website that day). The man at the desk said rates just vary all the time. Suggest anyone booking this motel do it through the website, not at the desk.    Also, guests may want to place an object in the bathroom window frame, as it has no locking mechanism, and is large enough for an average sized person to squeeze through.

The innkeeper (Raj) was great, Raj was always helpful about the local services available in the neighborhood. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The facility is showing a little age, the paint is a little rough, but all things considered it is a good value. New air conditioners and heaters,  the microwave and refrigerator worked well. I would return and stay there again.



Good value

I had made an online review for this place and even had a confirmation number. Upon arrival, they had no record of our reservation, but "found" a room for us anyway. I most note that the parking lot was nearly empty. Even though I had booked a downstairs room, they only had upstairs, but we were tired so we took it. The room was marginally clean and had just painted some of the room with cans of spray paint that they didn't clean up the overspray from, but it had an actual bathtub (with no drain plug). Most of the lights didn't work when we walked in, but after a bit of investigating, I realized they were all unplugged. Overall it served its purpose for us, but the folks who pulled in behind us were out of luck as the office clerk had locked up and gone home for the day at 6pm, so even though those folks had reservations, they were left out in the cold. I would not rely on this place to have a reservation even if you make one.

We got lucky

I booked this hotel on booking.com sight unseen, just before arriving. Just needed a bed for the night. Should have spent the few extra dollars to stay at the Best Western down the street.
This is one of those motels with full time residents. Know what I mean? Enough said.

Spend the few extra dollars to go somewhere else

The good news is this motel was built in an era when they installed real tile in the showers.  The bad news is that was a long time ago and the place has not been properly maintained since.
I was particularly interested to see the way that the flaking chrome on the fixtures was "repaired" by applying a coating of white spray paint from a rattle can.  That might not have turned out too badly had it not been for the fact that whomever did the painting would have simply bothered to mask off the surrounding counter, mirror and basin.  Unfortunately, they did not mask them off and the whole place looked like some drunken painter went nuts and had a bad hangover that day.
The crumbling wall behind the toilet, discolored tile in the shower, the poorly applied bondo and rust spots on the front door all accentuated the fact that this place is well past its prime.
The place is listed as having a swimming pool, which is true but what is not disclosed is there is no water in the pool and obviously had not been for some time.
The solitude was interesting as well seeing as we were the only occupied room in a complex of 60 plus rooms for the night.  Sometime after dark a couple of other travelers attempted to check in.  I heard the woman excoriate her companion for even looking at that place as they got in their car and left.  And then there was the other vehicle that checked in after dark and was gone by the time the sun came up.  I take a don't ask don't tell approach to such occurrences.  
Other than those issues there were some very interesting sounds during the night that I attribute to something living in the palm tree behind the room we stayed in.  The tree is badly leaning a may someday come crashing down into the motel but before that occurs whatever is living in the wad of dead palm frons will surely have a nice life in their palm tree penthouse when they come out for their nightly forgings.
It was interesting to see a genuine CRT television display in the room and in operating condition.  The last time I saw one of those it was being donated to a local charity and I think that they do not even accept them anymore.  When digital signals took over the airways everyone went to flat screens which by the way take about one fourth as much power to operate.
But to be fair the WiFi was free and did work well and the Indian restaurant the manager recommended was close by and a good value.

A Taste of India

I stayed here January 27, 2018. I was greeted warmly by the office staff. Room was very clean some of the stuff a bit outdated but still good very happy with my pleasant night stay I stayed in room number 12 and had an easy check out and place was close to places to eat which made me happy thank you for a great visit at your hotel. 

Trip home from Texas

The people running the place are very nice.  It is convenient, but very outdated.  The rooms are clean.  Has free WIFI, (WEP) but it isn't secure, so take precautions. Glad I was alone, my wife would not have been very happy.

Out of date, but clean.

Average accommodation ordinary but spacious room and clean facilities especially the bathroom nothing interesting discovered in this village a night of step in a desert area without any tourist attractions that's all
