Well he rung my number I was in Chattanooga Tennessee several times after some foul words exchanged I made a trip over stayed 57 nights it was lovely David and I are now happily engaged they are very gay friendly

We stayed just one night in this gem of a Bed and Breakfast in Windermere. Slap bang in the heart of the town, it is an excellent and clean base from which to launch yourself at the Lakes. Great brekky and brilliant entertainment from the highly charismatic owner, David.

Me and my family had a lovely stay here. The host was attentive and helped us plan our stay with the best spots to go which was a huge help. We were in a shared bathroom which was our choice and was my only concern. The location and breakfast were amazing and I am very glad I chose to stay here after reading the initial bad reviews. Overall had a very pleasant stay and would recommend choosing smaller bnb rather than chain hotels.

My mate and I are bikers and we visited Windermere on Saturday 18 July 2020. The hotel was booked for one night prior to us riding up from Northamptonshire. We were met by David, the owner, who directed us into out two parking spaces. His warm welcome was delightful. David then briefed us in accordance with the social and safe distancing rules. He took time to talk to us and he was great to listen to. Our twin room was very good. We knew it wasn’t en-suite prior to booking and that didn’t bother us. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The mattresses were of great quality, which afforded me a great nights sleep. Breakfast was superb! The best full English I’ve had in years. Our departure had us taking in another briefing from David on some great places to see and great roads to ride on our motorbikes. And he was right, they were great! I’ll definitely stay at Brendan Chase again. David, thank you for letting us stay in your house. You’re a great host and we wish you all the very best. John Cummins.


This is without a doubt the best guest i have visited in long while, amazing location,Good host, Good food, Nice beds. simply nothing to criticize. However i do suggest that sir Maloney does not go  jumping around with the prices it used to be a lot  cheaper, but can you really put a prize on perfection?

We booked Brendan Chase for the Fred Whitton Challenge in the summer and we believe that David was very accommodating and helpful. We arrived with our bikes which David kindly stored for us, and he was ready and prepared for when we left the B&B with a great breakfast at 5am. 

We believe that the Lake District is a fantastic place to visit due to people like David. Brendan Chase and David make the Lake District great and we would definitely come back and stay

Stayed at the Brendan Chase again, had a good nights sleep and a very good breakfast indeed. It is quite some time since we last stayed there but David is as helpful as ever,   He s an excellent host and genuinely cares about his guests. I do not have a problem with house rules-they are for the benefit of all. I do not understand some of these reviews, one wonders if they are referring to the same B&B.

World wide recognition, a popular owner now on the internet. Pleasant and helpful, I am surprised people are leaving comments saying it was great but only leaving 3 stars...snobs.

David is very knowledgeable about the area and many other subjects. There were families there who seemed very happy. Will be returning. A little gem

Here for 3 nights, had a nice ensuite room with very efficient shower. David was very helpful with car parking which is a problem everywhere in the Lake District.
Location was on a bus route and walking distance to the Bus station, so didnt need the car. Breakfast was fine, no fruit or yogurt, just orange juice, but OK for me. David was a very interesting man having worked in Africa for many years. Room was quiet[ but weather was dreadful, a real shame after coming up from Bournemouth.

What a lovely host!

We came here on the 12th Sept just for a break away and was not disappointed.. David was very friendly and helpful giving us a map and showing us some of the best places to go, The room was cosy and clean we had a ensuite which was spotless. I have to say that the bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in and did not want to get out of, the breakfast was very nice hot and filling, there was 17 bikers there also and we all went for breakfast at the same time and still the food was hot and we didn't wait long.. David apologised to us for our wait but it wasn't any longer than if we had been to a cafe.. We will definatly stay here again.
