The Greyhound Inn Aldbury

We rocked up here by accident after having plugged the wrong pub into our SatNav. We had no booking but the staff made room for us without fuss and so began our evening. The location is charming. Quaint and quiet with a ‘chocolate box’ outlook and easy parking next to a picturesque village pond. The food was very good. A lovely menu promised a lot, and the food absolutely delivered. I’m always wary of a steak that arrives covered in an unannounced peppercorn sauce but it was good quality and cooked perfectly. In addition the dairy intolerant vegetarian requirements of my wife were easily accommodated by the staff there. Which brings me to my last point. The staff. I cannot recall the last time I encountered a team of people that so effortlessly blended breathtaking efficiency with such utter charm. They were delightful and, quite frankly, I’d visit this place again deliberately just for them. Eat here. Sleep here. You won’t be disappointed
