Cutlands Barn

Stayed two nights. Arrived on a very wet, chilly day to a warm welcome by Mike. Lovely spacious room. Served tea and cake and given use of sitting room and conservatory. Provided with wood and coal for the fire in the evenings. Mike and Claudette served a delicious full English breakfast. Free WiFi and ample parking off road. A little difficult to find in the village initially.

My son stayed here recently when on placement in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed his stay- room was gorgeous with a cosy lounge. Breakfasts were great and the owner Claudette was warm ,friendly and very hospitable.
Definitely recommends!!

Me and my husband stayed here for one night. We were welcomed with tea and homemade cake. The room was clean and bright, including a good size ensuit.  Nicely decorated and didn't have the dated, tired looking feel of some b and bs we have stayed in. There is a comfortable lounge area overlooking the garden. Both the room and lounge have nice views. TV, WiFi and tea/ coffee in the room, although only provided with one cup. To be fair we didn't want a cuppa as had one on arrival and at breakfast and the owner is very helpful and availiable, so we could have easily asked for one if needed. Fresh milk instead of those horrible UHT cartons. Would highly recommend . 

My wife and I needed affordable accommodation near Dartmouth. The B&B was good value and would recommend it. 
We arrived to a very fine welcome of cream scones and tea. View from the lounge/conservatory was of flowing meadows. Very nice.
The room was clean. Not very spacious but had the usual amenities. We were only given a bath towel each, but for one night it was ok. The shower in the bathroom was excellent.
We had a comfortable night and the farmhouse breakfast in the morning, served in the kitchen was delightful. 

We stayed at Cutlands Barn for three nights over the Easter weekend. We were welcomed by Claudette with a pot of tea and slice of cake in the conservatory. Our room was large with lots of wardrobe/drawer space. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower large with lots of hot water. We had breakfast in the kitchen, cooked by either Claudette or Mike. They were able to give us ideas of where to visit and also recommendations for places to eat. In an extremely peaceful location, we would recommend Cutlands Barn to anyone wanting a good location, a comfortable stay and warm and friendly hosts.

Fabulous!!

I can't emphasize just how unwelcome we were made to feel. Claudette was incredibly rude and pugnacious to the extent that she made my girlfriend cry.
It started from the first phone call when we called to check if it was ok to arrive at 6pm as traffic was slowing us down. Claudette said this was not ok despite this being within the specified check in time. There was nobody to greet us at the property however we were given a code to get in. I tried calling on both contact numbers to see if we could access the garden and decking through the house, as advertised. Claudette did not answer either phone or attempt to call back. The kitchen door was open so we left our bottle of wine in the fridge to enjoy later on. The next morning we came down to breakfast and tried to introduce ourselves. Immediately Claudette launched into us for entering the 'private' kitchen the previous night. Of course we had no idea the kitchen was private as nobody had told us this and also had not noticed the small 'private' sign as the door was left open. We apologised profusely however she was on the war path and would not drop the subject. My girlfriend was extremely upset as we were staying locally for a friend's wedding.
The host also attempted to charge us for a lamp which was accidentally knocked over, however on closer inspection the lamp had clearly already been broken before, it was held together with glue and zip ties.
The final and most shocking issue with the entire stay was that my car was vandalised whilst parked outside the property. My windscreen has been severely scratched with what looks like sandpaper, directly in the eye line of the driver.
It ruined what should have been a stress free weekend. 
Please save yourself the worry and find another property nearby!
