Genuinely a really nice quaint pub, the beer garden is a real sun trap for those warm Friday/Saturday afternoons. 
Bar staff are always really friendly and chatty.  There are some lovely drinks on draught, recently they have Clwb tropica (tiny rebel IPA), and a Nitro trooper Ale. 
If you walk by, I'd recommend stopping for a drink.

Lovely place to visit with the family. The food was amazing, and plentiful. Between us we had chicken roast, lamb shanks and steak and it was all cooked to perfection. Home made trifle was delicious and the staff were very nice and friendly. We will definitely visit again.

This is our local pub, only 200m from home. We have to say this is the best it’s ever been in our 11 years of living in Bowlish. Great to have a clean, bright pub with friendly welcoming staff and management, and they now serve food! Not just food but amazing food! Good selection of ales, cider, wine and spirits. Highly recommended and nice to meet some new local faces and visitors to the area. Lovely courtyard garden, enclosed , and dog friendly throughout so ideal for the whole family.

Had the best meal here, hearty food, large portions. I had the scampi and pate, it was delicious!! well presented and delicious. Good value for such large portions.
Staff are amazing and friendly, I will definitely be back for another meal. Booking recommended for a eating in. 
The pub has a great vamp up and it’s looks bright and colourful.

Food was delicious & plentiful, staff very friendly & helpful. New management since May 2023, so previous reviews before that not relevant. 
Accommodation is very cheap but that is because of shared bathroom & single glazing windows. 

Amazing. Me and partner were looking for a place to have lunch. He suggested to go to the horseshoe as we have never been before. Best decision ever. The staff are very friendly,and the food to die for. We were not expecting that at all. Amazing! Thank you we will be back for sure. 

Excellent Sunday lunch, great quality and well presented with generous portions. Very friendly helpful staff. Pub is very pleasant inside with a nice beer garden at the back. Definitely worth a visit.

At last a decent place in shepton mallet. Friendly staff, laid back atmosphere, beautiful walled garden. Generous portions of quality food. Will definitely be coming back. Burger was excellent. Drinks are reasonably priced.  Like what they’ve done with the place.

We stayed at this place on 20 th of May as we were attending a wedding in Bruton. My husband was a little sceptical reading the old reviews. When we arrived we were welcomed by friendly staff who showed us the premises. Room and bathroom vere clean and tidy. We enjoyed the beer garden with the best burger I ever had. We would definitely recommend this place. Oh and the full English breakfast was just amazing! Thank you 

Amazing place, Great value for money! I booked this place via vouchercloud 2nights for £86 including English breakfast. That's £44 per person for 2 nights. Room was clean, with towels and bottled water in there. Bathroom was large and very clean equipped with toiletries and extra towels as well as ironing board and iron. I would highly recommend this place. It was newly painted and newly refurbished. This is truly great value for money and even of you don't book the night, make sure you stop for burger, it's the best I ever had!
