We had a wonderful stay at The Dolfor Inn. The room was just beautiful, packed with original features and the bed was super comfortable. We had an evening meal and breakfast the following morning which were both absolutely delicious. Our hosts were fantastic company and obviously love what they do with the attention to detail and service. We had a lovely drink with them Friday night, lots of laughs and great company. We will definitely be back A++++

A lovely property situated just off the main road, so excellent driving accessibility. Parking is plentiful, there's a nice spacious front garden with a bird feeder, so you can get to watch the birds every morning. - I would expect this to be a nice place to sit outside in during the summer months, with nice weather.

Owners/staff there were both lovely and very accommodating, kept us well supplied with alcohol and a well organised morning breakfast. Alcohol options are well priced - the cocktail mix in particular was excellent! Breakfast options are varied, and I was a particular fan of the omelette options. I thought the value overall was fair and reasonable.

I went for the deluxe room, and I recommend it, as you get a lovely bath (of generous size for couples to get in together,) and a large bed - essential if you're anywhere near 6ft tall!

The bed was fantastic, very comfortable and with superb pillows, I had two perfect nights of sleep here, which was essential for me as I was visiting the area to do an Athletics fitness test.

Should I have need to travel back to Newtown in the future, this is definitely going to be my choice of accommodation, as it is quite frankly faultless. I fully recommend it to everyone.

We visited in September with our son and his bride to be, alongside the brides parents,  the bride and grooms brothers, and our grand-daughter aged 1 year. Tim and Helen couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. The wedding was at The Giraffe Shed on the other side of Newtown, and met our requirements completely.  The breakfast menu enabled a different choice each day and was tasty and freshly cooked. The rooms were clean and comfy with a wonderful bed. 
We would recommend and visit again if we were in the area.

Excellent facilities with what can only be described as the best breakfast menu ever. The Vicarage is set in a fantastic rural location. Excellently decorated and superb facilities and my bed was unbelievably comfortable. Superb hosts who couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend.

High in the hills above Newtown a B&B of the highest calibre. Minute attention to detail, scrupulously clean rooms with the supplied dressing gowns giving that extra touch of luxury; varied and unusual breakfastmenu, particularly the laverbread omelette, excellent coffee.
Superb views over the hills, close to the main road but traffic noise screened out by trees.

We return every two years to coincide with our visit to the Christian Conference Centre at nearby Cefn Lea.
Like many B&B's they must have had a lean two years, but they have been busy sprucing up the driveway and patio area at the front of the property.
Tim and Helen as ever were welcoming and really looked after us. Our room was perfect for the two of us but they can also offer a large family room if needed. Helen looked after our needs in the dining room while Tim cooked us a lovely breakfast. This included home made elements and their presentation is first class. Lovely bed by the way and the bed linen is ice white.

As I have said above why wouldn't you choose to stay at The old Vicarage - you will not be disappointed.

Amazing local knowledge, room comfy, quiet, clean and spot on. Breakfast absolutely gorgeous, home made bread for toast, home made chutney which, was beautiful. A great selection of chutneys and pickles all made and grown by Helen that are also all for sale so we bought a couple to take back with us 😃

Will definitely stay again when we are back down in the area

We always  feel welcome at The Old Vicarage which is a beautifully decorated period property with en suite rooms, very comfortable bed and a breakfast fit for a king...Tim's Lava bread omelette is delicious along with homemade bread. We always feel spoilt on our breaks and beautiful views from our room across the rolling hills leaves my Welsh Wife homesick.(see photo below). 

Thank you Tim & Helen your hard work and attention to detail is appreciated... We would recommend The Old Vicarage to anyone.

The best B&B we have ever visited!

After quite a few years since our last stay in this beautiful house, we were not disappointed with our recent visit. A  friendly welcome from Tim and Helen . The rooms are beautiful . very comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was excellent. We especially enjoyed the yogurt and homemade compote and freshly baked  bread . We enjoyed a good bottle of wine and nibbles on the sunny terrace after a long day walking. Perfect. Very good location. Looking forward to another visit  but won't leave it so long next time. DIolch yn fawr.

Another excellent visit

Had an overnight stay here for a wind down on our way home from our son's wedding, and it was certainly that. After a warm welcome, we were shown to our room which was Ithon, with lovely views over rolling farmland. Our room, and indeed the whole house is sensitively furnished in keeping with it's Victorian heritage. A comfortable lounge is provided for guests to relax in, and a dining room where we enjoyed a meze platter and glass of wine. The food was excellent and of a high quality. This was repeated at breakfast, which provided a choice of tempting dishes. Helen is an ideal front of house presence, attentive, but in no way intrusive, while  Tim is the very talented chef. A highly recommended B&B of some quality, and we look forward to returning soon.

Wonderful Stay

We made an impromptu stop off at The Old Vicarage and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. 

The room was clean, warm and cosy - with plenty of character. 

The breakfast was excellent! Loved the local and homemade touches. 

I'm not really one for eating too early so I was rather sad that we had to get on the road by 7:30am, otherwise I would have loved to have had the Lava Bread Omelette on the menu. I opted for the Pan au Raisin as something lighter and it was really very good. 

Would highly recommend and will most certainly stay again.
