Residence Inn by Marriott Edinburgh

I have to admit that I arrived a bit hesitant after reading some negative reviews from May and June of this year. However, when I emailed the hotel with my concerns, their response was prompt and professional — and once I arrived, wow, my experience completely exceeded my expectations. It turned out to be the best stay of my entire trip in the UK! The hotel is very modern and located in a safe, vibrant area. Just a few blocks down the road, you reach the charming old part of Edinburgh with its cobblestone streets and stairways, while the hotel’s neighborhood offers a more contemporary atmosphere with plenty of great dining options nearby. We were given a spacious one-bedroom suite with a living and dining area plus a small kitchen. The room felt very comfortable — more like an American-style hotel, not tiny at all. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. I especially appreciated the laminate flooring (no carpet!) and the modern layout. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The person who helped us with our luggage also took the time to show us how to use the heater — very attentive and professional. The front desk team went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. Breakfast was very good — not as rustic as in the countryside hotels, but still delicious and nicely presented. The buffet included scrambled eggs, bread, fruits, cereals, porridge (which we enjoyed every day), and more. Everything was fresh and clean. There’s only one elevator, but it worked well, and we often used the stairs for convenience. Overall, the hotel is modern, spotless, and perfectly located. I absolutely loved my stay and will definitely return. Highly recommended — and thank you to the entire team for making our visit so memorable!
