Excellent food and atmosphere as usual, our server Jan was a pleasure, very friendly and helpful! Look forward to our next visit.

Really lovely evening made even better as all 3 of us were made do welcome 🐾We were recommended this place by friends, not sure how we had pre hourly not been as it’s only 20 mins away from home!
Plenty car parking and outside eating and drinking if we wanted.
Brought our dog as saw was dog friendly when we booked. Absolutely loved seeing the selection of dog treats available as you walk through the door. What was even better was they weren’t just the usual ones - great as my dog is getting elderly and needed something a bit different and had a menu to choose from for him 😃. When seated asked if we were ok seated with other dogs and the other owners equally asked. Little touches that help relax.
Service and food were great. Attentive, good menu selection, home made dishes, decent beers.
Nice evening. We will all be back soon.

Fabulous food
Went for what I expected to be a pub meal but wow it was way way better than that. Absolutely more like top class restaurant food. Had the seabass fillets. They were delicious. A lovely little touch for desert is the option of a mini desert and coffee ( but only pay for 1) fruit crumble which was excellent, crispy crumble and very creamy custard. Mia who served us was very welcoming and friendly. Would 100% recommend this place.

Fantastic staff who ran around trying to meet our every demand. Professional,  but personal service. Lovely wine and food . Thank you Ben, Amy, Jan and Mia for a lovely experience. What a friendly crew and lovely atmosphere inside and outside.

Booked an evening meal after being recommended by a friend and wasn't disappointed . The food was excellent and plenty of it with a wide choice to choose from.

We stayed here for two nights as we were in Nottingham for a wedding. The place itself was beautiful with a lovely outdoor area which was relaxing and peaceful. The food was delicious and fresh and our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, chatty and very helpful when it came to helping us organise a taxi. One member of the team, Jan, was extremely kind and helpful and helped to give us the best experience. Great place and we will definitely be back!

We've found this pub after a long walk with the dogs and what a nice surprise: 5stars, amazing food, super service, the italian manger was friendly and has lots to recommend on the delicious menu. I'll be back and recommend to my local friends 

Room was lovely, comfortable and clean. Bed was cosy.
Breakfast was delicious and staff were friendly.
Had a family meal during our stay for 12 people. Service was great. 
Again food was delicious. 
Will definitely come again.


Took my husband’s parents out for a lunch on Saturday. We have visited a few  times in the past and as always not disappointed. Staff really friendly from the off, happy for us to swop tables to give us a little bit more room, drinks arrived swiftly as did the food. Which was delicious, nice and hot and well presented and generous potions. Fish and chips superb, the steak cooked to perfection (not always the case in many places). Gammon  really good and after discussion with I think possibly the manager - great guy, he told it was sourced  from the Derby area which was good to know. 
Really great lunch, thanks to all the staff.

We stayed for one night, room was clean and well presented, the food was very good as was the service. The breakfast was perfect. The bed was very comfy. nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again

A quaint countryside stay

Perfect lunch, great food and lovely staff

Can't really argue with anything, paid £39 and had a cold breakfast + coffee included in the price. 
Nice comfortable pub and restaurant downstairs with good food. 
The rooms are nice, cosy and clean.
Can't argue with anything.
A long walk if you wanted to visit any other pubs or shops in Lowdham, but not very far in the car.

First visit and would not hesitate to go again.

Premises were clean and well laid out.

Lovely food

The food was very good; dinner and breakfast freshly prepared and well presented, although the kitchen ran out of several items on the menu.
The room was small but clean and adequate for a 2 night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable but softer pillows are needed.
