Great dog friendly apartment has everything you could need apart from a washing machine.  Very comfortable and nicely decorated. Perfect for either a weekend or longer. Located in beautiful surroundings with a good pub called The Black Bull in the next village.

Lovely spot for a peaceful escape in the Dales. 
The cottage is hidden around the side of the farmhouse and was perfect for sitting outside after a days walking having some nibbles and a G&T.
We booke done of the two dog-friendly ones on teh ground floor and the cottage itself was immaculate and allowed our two dogs inside (sitting room only). 
There's a large field out front for walking the dogs in, and proper walking can be done from the door, including down to the river for a cooling dip for the dogs on hot days.

The apartment was spotless, welcoming, well equipped and in immaculate condition, with everything we needed. The owner is friendly and helpful and the area is wonderful. There is space to exercise dogs and we enjoyed the red squirrels in the tree outside. Comfortable, peaceful, relaxing and great value.

My partner and I have just returned from a most lovely and relaxing stay in waggonette. We had lunch in Kirby Stephen before following the simple instructions provided by Emma.  We took a few photos of pendragon cadtle on our way past. 
On arrival we were greeted by Emma who showed us around.  The apartment is delightful and the private patio was ideal.  We just wanted somewhere to relax and this was exactly what we got. We loved sitting on the patio enjoying a drink, playing cards and listening to nature all around us. 
We spent the Saturday in hawes which was a nice drive, such a lovely town. Very popular with bikes.
We found the apartment had everything we could possibly need including gorgeous carrot cake on arrival. Seeing the red squirrels playing in the trees was a bonus.

Me my partner and little cocker spaniel Ozzie have just had 2 nights at this absolutely stunning cottage. From the second we arrived it was perfect. We got to our cottage to find a big slice of lemon cake waiting for us which was greatly appreciated with a nice bru after hour and half drive. We brought some essentials like washing up liquid. Hand wash. Coffee. Etc only to find they were provided. Even sauces salt and vinegar.  Was very spacious and beautifully set out. Dvds and books to use during our stay. Our dog loved running round outside. Emma and Martyn were lovely, very friendly and helpful and let us check out at our leisure as no one was booked into our cottage the day we left. No stress just pure relaxation.  This was our first visit here and we will 100% be returning when weather is warmer.  We went a lovely walk with our dog even tho it was freezing and rained. Nothing spoiled it for us. Stunning scenery and look forward to seeing it in summer. We've been various places in the UK but hand on heart this place wins hands down.  Sometimes places could do with improvement in some way but here there is absolutely nothing they could improve on. Everything you could possibly want or need.  They have thought of everything to make your stay perfect! Very reasonably priced too. I could go on and on. In a nut shell.. Perfect cottage. Perfect location. Perfect hosts. Just all round perfect! I will be recommending it to all my family and friends. We can't wait to return. :)

Wonderful location, the views outside the lodge are spectacular. Saw a red squirrel in the garden & absolutely loved the peace.

The lodge was immaculate and quite adequate for a couple to relax. A well equipped kitchen and very comfortable bed made for a restful break.

Elysian Fields at Ing Hill Lodge is a beautiful hideaway nestled between The Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales. 

The views in every direction are breathtaking. 

It was wonderful to have chickens pottering about outside. With a backdrop of dramatic skies above rugged green mountainside and a beautiful waterfall so close by you can’t help but be soothed by the natural unspoilt surroundings from the moment you arrive. 

Emma really couldn’t have been more friendly, kindhearted and accommodating. The accommodation was lovely and after hours travelling in the car we were delighted to find that there was a big chunk of homemade blueberry cake waiting in the fridge for us which was a wonderful personal touch. 

Wish we could have stayed longer!


This was my second visit to Elysian Fields. I was looking forward to visiting in the summer as it was snowing the last time I went. I stayed in the Wagonette which is a little bit special as it has its own private courtyard with garden furniture, a nice place to sit in the morning sun. The chickens are very entertaining and appear as if by magic the minute you open the door. The red squirrels were very much in evidence and it was so good to see one scampering along the top of the stone wall. 
I cannot recommend this clean, comfortable accommodation highly enough.

My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights with our sprocker. It was beautiful and quiet, definitely nothing around so make sure you take your own food and drinks. On arrival we found some amazing lemon drizzle cake, so nice- thank you! It’s clean and well equipped. We would definitely return but there were just little things that didn’t help us quite relax. 1 the court yard where you park your car is quite small if you have a large car it takes a 20 point turn to get out without ripping the wing off your car. 2) we expect a field for our dog to run in but it was just a small mowed path. 3) no small courtyard that’s enclosed so we could sit out & enjoy a glass of wine, like in some of the photos other have posted. The time you could arrive and the god awful time you have to be out especially if you’re not a morning person and it’s a bank holiday! I understand that the cottage has be ready for other customers but to be packed up and off it sort off spoiled it. Lastly make sure you ask for the dog policy to read before booking. There are a lot of rules to say it’s dog friendly. Yes we respect that the furniture has to be kept nice as we do at home but I was literally paranoid something was going to get damaged and was on edge the whole time. Overall though it is a beautiful cottage, in a beautiful area.
