I knew we were going to like Puddleduck Valley before we arrived, but we absolutely LOVED it. We stayed in Buttermilk Cottage and it was spotless. It had everything you need to make your stay comfortable and easy, including a secure garden that even my little dog couldn't escape from. The hot tub was a definite hit with my kids, although it does take 2.5 hours to get hot so don't expect to get in straight away. Phil and Melanie are the perfect hosts - Melanie even put on an Easter egg hunt for all the children staying that weekend. The location is idyllic, perfect if you want to get away from your busy life. The walk to the local pub is an adventure, or if you want the sea, you are half an hour drive from Bude. The TV reception was a bit hit and miss, but this just meant we spent our time playing board games or reading. It was great to get the kids away from their screens! I just wished we had stayed longer. I cannot recommend Puddleduck Valley enough.
