The meal options are great but check when the kitchen is open when you arrive. Breakfast is very good.The situation is perfect for peace and quiet, particularly for visiting Leighton Moss.It would be helpful if the wi-fi details were available in the room, but the staff are very helpful and pro-active so it was easy for me to get this (and other) information.

The service was excellent.  Lovely clean hotel, nice ambience.    The staff were wonderful, polite, helpful and very efficient.    Food was very good.

Lovely stay at a nice hotel with wonderful staff. Could not do enough for us and our dog. Excellent food and service. Would highly recommend.

Made very welcome on arrival and shown to our room. Checked in early but this was not a problem. Plenty tea n coffee in the room also toiletries. Breakfast got better each day and the service was excellent. Dinner was good as was the pizza. Local fish n chips in arndale was excellent. Overall a very good stay and would recommend this place for walkers and cyclists alike. We were on motorbikes and this was not a problem, plenty of parking for everyone. Friendly locals in the bar made us welcome. Staff were amazing could not do enough for us. I would definitely come back here. A little gem in the lakes .

Altogether - a very nice experience, where the staff are very friendly and helpful.  The evening food is very good albeit from a somewhat limited menu. Breakfasts are extremely good.  The hotel is rather olde worlde, with bookshelves, worn but comfortable furnishings and many historic and informative pictures. The hotel is located near an interesting beach, many good walking routes, and an impressive ('tho hilly) golf course, but there is not much else in the way of other bars, or other restaurant choices, unless you go to the adjacent small town of Arnside. All in all a peaceful, and very comfortable stay.

A peaceful, and very comfortable stay.

This little hotel is fabulous, the staff were excelent, friendly and helpful from checking in, serving us with our evening meal to check out.  We stayed in Room 5, although very small, it had everything we needed.  There were lovely thick, very large  towels available, nice body wash and cream along with bottled water.  Just missing for me was a long mirror and just one comment - the bathroom had obviously been refurbished to a very high standard with a lovely powerful shower, unfortunately mould around the edges has just started to creep in - a quick squrt with a specialist solution will sort this out I am sure.  The breakfast, cooked to order at an agreed time with ourselves was excelent, the produce was of good quality and cooked to perfection. We ate in the restuarant at night, it was a little pricey for what was effectively  bar food, we had to wait for a long time as the pub itself was rammed - however when it did come it was again lovely.  I think residents would benefit from the option of a set meal where they could if they wanted have two or three courses at a resonable price.

Top little hotel

This is an old building, but well up to the job.Especially liked to control the room heating ourselves.The area is superb, maybe too quiet for some - not us !Shelley (owner ?) falls over backwards to help, the rest of the staff try to keep up. Bar always open, no food Monday, but an Indian nearby (Pick carefully !).Ideal for those who enjoy the solitude of nature.

Had an amazing stay. Staff were friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. We were travelling with a young baby and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and relaxed as a family. Food was great too - breakfast was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back - highly recommend!

I stayed at the Silverdale Hotel whilst doing some walking in the surrounding area. Everything about my stay was excellent. Friendly staff checked me in in minutes and my room was waiting. The room was clean and comfortable and well stocked with bottle water, tea, coffee and biscuits. I  had an evening meal at the hotel, fish, chips an peas. The large fish was cooked perfectly, my only complaint was there were too many chips.A very comfortable night's sleep then an excellent breakfast set me up for another days walking. The hotel seemed to be a popular pub with a good selection of beers and plenty of friendly locals. I would definitely recommend the hotel as a base for exploring the Silverdale and Arnside area.

Silverdale weekend

We thought this was exceptionally good value. Very good breakfast, cooked to order. Nice bar area - very quiet when we were there - a Monday in January, but can imagine it being atmospheric when more people around. We were in room 5 which is quite small, but okay for a night or two. Smart bathroom and the whole room was spotlessly clean. Unusually generous tea and coffee provision.

Extremely good

Charming hotel encompassing a timeless bar area, (Timothy Taylor & directors no less) characterful breakfast room and evening meal in a conservatory, garden full of wildlife with many comfortable seating areas catering for privacy or large groups.Food in the much better than average pub grub (home made fish pie for me) and very down to earth prices, staff all good fun. The only negative I can come up with is that the bedroom walls may have been a little thin, and that’s because I can think of nothing else.

Hidden gem, unspoilt area.

Arrived to a lovely welcome and easy book in. Liked the fact that we were personally taken to our room Bery comfortable and spacious room. All staff were very friendly at all times. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent and a great quiet atmosphere. Location superb Looking forward to a return visit
