Lovely owners, great atmosphere, excellent breakfasts in a unique location.

Me and my partner had a fabulous stay in this beautiful cottage. The food and staff were great and with my partner being heavily pregnant they reached every demand she had with ease. We stayed with our dog and she had a great time too meeting some other furry friends staying there as well. 10/10

Excellent accommodation with fantastic hosts

Lovely hosts, nice touches, comfortable abs stylish rooms. Shower could be more powerful.

A brief but very pleasant stay! I slept over before a trail marathon the early the next morning in Grizedale Forest. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. They offered to run me down to the start line, I needed my car, but that was very kind! They supplied me with coffee at 6:15am made my porridge and provided a a take away sausage sarnie which I ate when I finished the race and was like heaven at that point! The room was very clean and comfortable for the night and I had a lovely meal at Billy’s round the corner (4mins walk).

I find it completely quintessentially British staying in a nice guest house in the Lakes. I also find it entirely relaxing and humbling. 
This B&B is lovely, recently renovated to high standards, 15 metres from a good pub and in the beautiful village of Hawkshead. 
I couldn’t recommend more.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Paul and Kate for the warm welcome and exceptional stay in their B&B. The house is charming and beautiful and full of character from the moment you enter the door. Free parking and pets allowed is an added bonus. We stayed in the ground floor room with our dog. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to perfection by Paul and lovingly served by Kate. Continental and full English breakfast served in a beautiful breakfast room with an amazing open fire. Hawkshead village has some amazing pubs,shops and cafés and the old school museum. Would highly recommend a stay here as we thoroughly enjoyed every part of the short stay here. Very warm and welcoming Hoteliers. 

Our stay at the Ivy was a lovely experience. Our room was very clean and cosy. The sitting room downstairs with the log burner blazing away was so welcoming and relaxed,  it felt very peaceful in there.
Darren was attentive,  we felt very looked after. Breakfast was beautiful and the young man who waited on us was warm, friendly and easy to talk to.
We wished we were staying longer and we will definitely return. Amazing place and lovely people ❤️

Ideally located in Hawkshead village with off road parking.
Bedroom was comfortable and clean.
Breakfast, as usual, excellent.
The lovely Heather is always pleasant and polite to guests.

house is the place for you. Lovely old house right in the centre of the village. Really cute.
Such a shame they don't do evening meals because given the quality of the breakfast and the presentation in the dining room they'd do a bomb.
(We found that the food on offer in local pubs left a lot to be desired).

Excellent hospitality in a traditional Cumbrian town house.

Wonderful experience

What a find.

Just arrived home from a two night stay.
A very friendly welcome and room was cosy and well stocked.
Heather couldn't be any more helpful so very patient and kind to our children.
A really lovely place to stay, and a lovely little village to explore. 
Visit Minstrels Coffee Shop for best Coffee and cakes!!!

Fabulous place to stay!

We booked a while ago as we were coming to see friends who have a business there. Staff were very attentive and accommodating at all times the breakfast was  excellent and set us up for the day. Darren greeted us as we arrived we were early but room was ready. Nothing was a bother it’s a great base to explore the Lakes. Yes I’d recommend it. I wish Darren and his hard working team all the best for the future and thank you again for a stress free stay in a wonderful idilic setting. 😁😁

Perfect for our stay.

We had a very pleasant three night stay at the Ivy. Some issues with only having a bathtub not a shower in the en-suite, but that was probably down to us not reading the details at the time of booking. Darran made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The full English breakfast was superb and kept us going throughout the day. We're looking forward to our next stay.

A pleasant stay.

Lovely place to stay, beautiful building with loads of character, room was spacious and comfortable. Received a very warm welcome from Darren and Roz, they offered loads of advice on places to go and see, we felt as though we'd always  known them. Breakfast was just fabulous, couldn't fault it in any way.

Returned today from a weeks stay at Ivy Guest House. Once again have had a brilliant stay..Darren and Heather have been so attentive ,nothing is to much trouble.
Our dog Charlie was made so welcome and loved his stay . 
The English breakfast sets you up for the day but if you prefer something lighter you only have to ask.The scrambled eggs on toast was really nice..
