78 reviewsWe hadn't stayed in this part of Jomtien before, so I was looking forward to seeing what was on offer. The hotel itself is really great. We opted for a suite with a separate main bedroom, and sofa bed in the living room for the children. Overall, this is a great place to stay. Really huge room with a wrap-around balcony looking east and south to the sea. It's only 7 storeys high, so don't expect spectacular views. The good Great breakfast, including some Indian dishes, and it changed every day (well, the hot food did). And decent coffee, which often isn't the case. Streaming box in the living room and bedroom, which makes a nice change to the multitude of awful cable channels you usually get. Big bathroom with jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Could do better The windows to the balcony are really heavy, making them difficult to open. The one in the living room didn't actually lock, but not really an issue. We couldn't open the ones in the bedroom at all. The swimming pool is on the roof with a bar. It's clean but the main problem is the loose floor tiles. Many were either missing or sitting loosely on the bottom, leaving sharp edges where they used to be. These could cut someone, so be aware of this. The car park is not that big and scooters and mopeds tended to use the car spaces, instead of the dedicated bike spaces. I did mention this twice, but nothing was done. Not a problem when you get the last parking space, but the person after us would have had nowhere to park. Finally, I have to mention the area itself. This is not part of the hotel review, which I have said was really rather good, but a comment on the state of tourism in Thailand in general. The whole area seemed to comprise either shuttered, abandoned, or very tired looking places. There were one or two that have maintained an effort, and these were usually busy. But if I'd travelled half way around the world for an extended holiday, I would be really disappointed in what I found. The beach was not really clean (full of plastic and other waste), the water is dirty, and the streets have more potholes than an abandoned mine. If you want to base yourself in this area, this hotel is recommended, but make sure you make plans to take your day trips elsewhere.
