Raipreda Homestay

My connection with Raipreda homestay started as a Risk Assessment for one of the Grade's camp for the school I work with. I've since been back twice and plan to go back again, here are some reasons why! 1. Location The people of Raipreda are very proud of what they have, and so they should be. Nestled in the hills of Phang Gna bay, Rai preda is surrounded by natural beauty. Their accommodation is spread amongst some lovely grounds with rock pools, seating areas and incredible cliffs as a natural border. At a short drive, you can visit the pier with stunning views down the river. Or the Tiger Temple, an amazing Buddhist temple cut into the caves of a hill, so awe-inspiring it can astonish most audiences. Less than 5 minutes drive to the kayaks or longtail boats where you can float down the mangroves to the ancient caves where you can visit Mr Au Luek and the other ancient cave-paintings. 2. The Facilities From camping ground, to extremely comfortable bungalows, this site has a range of choices. I personally prefer the little 'tree-house-like' accommodations up in the hill. Private, quiet and much more traditional thai style. I booked something a little more comfortable for my mother and her friend, with two double beds, efficient air conditioning and a view. Every thing is very clean and the staff are constantly working to improve the site. I can't wait to go back in a year and see the improvements they've made. 3. The People The people of Raipreda make it easy for any guests. I've worked with them to arrange a school camp and visited them independently and they've always been very accommodating. The daughter of the owner also works on site and speaks English fantastically, so if you're having any troubles just ask for her. As they often take groups of people, they have strong connections with local guides. Guide Nong started as a tour guide and I now consider him a friend. With great stories, a relentless smile, and incredible local knowledge, he's the guy to take you round. I could write so much more about this place, but I'll leave it with this, go find out for yourself, explore, talk to the people... Au Luek and Raipreda have a lot to offer.
