39 reviewsI stayed here for just over two weeks and had a very comfortable time. This is a simple hotel but with some great features that make it rather special. First of all, my spacious room was right on the sea with uninterrupted views across the ocean. As the tide went in and out you could watch all sorts of life - fisher-men and -women, and many kinds of birds come and go. Second, the service was exceptionally friendly, the staff appeared genuinely happy to please. Third, the food is really excellent, especially the king prawns and the fruit juices. There are a few minor downsides, the hotel is 10km out of Stone Town and across an unmade causeway. So you need to take the hotel bus into town ($10) and get a taxi back too. On the other hand it's near the airport (noise is not a problem though). Also, the hotel doesn't serve alcohol, I felt better for that after a bit but it might be an issue if you need to relax with a drink as the sun sets. However, all-in-all very nice indeed for a simple hotel and I got an excellent rate too because of the long stay.
