Fullon Hotel Fulong

I had the pleasure to spend a night here during my trip to Taipei in October. This resort is a hidden gem not known to many foreign people. It’s only 1.5 hour train ride from Taipei. Once you get there, you truly taste the local raw vibe of Taiwan. There are so many amenities on this resort. And you can clearly notice that the management has put in great thoughts into this place. Every staff we encountered was friendly. They sure made us feel welcome. The room is spacious. It even has a hot spring bath in the bathroom. They provide everything you need from flip flops, robes, snacks to Nespresso coffee. The ocean view from the room is simply stunning! The fine dining Chinese restaurant is a must visit. We have dined in many high end Chinese restaurants in Taipei, from Shangri La hotel to Michelin starred Shin Yeh restaurant in Marriot Hotel. The meal we had at this restaurant surpassed them big time! GM told us that they use local ingredients for their menu. Perhaps, that’s why the food is so fresh and delicious The highlight for me is their Japanese style onsen spa. You have to be totally naked. If you are public shy, then it’s not for you. The spa is huge! Multiple pools at different temperatures. There is also a huge swimming pool that you can skinny dip. The night life is limited. They do have a band performing in the lounge. They are simply amazing. Even though they are Filipino, they can sing English, Chinese to local dialect songs. You can even request songs. I randomly requested a song and they sang it right on the spot. Truly talented! In short, this is a very nice resort excellent for a weekend getaway. I only wish we could get more resorts like this in North America.
