I chose this last minute based on price and reviews, and was delighted to find it was a wonderful place to stay. In fact I tried to extend my stay from 2 day's to 5, but they were fully booked on one of the days so I extended it to 4 nights . As written by the previous reviewer, it's about 10 minutes walk from tamsui train station. There's tons of street shops and 7|11 types sto 90res around. There'll be lots of people walking up and down in a relaxed manner along most of the way to the station, esp at night. As for the hotel itself, it's exterior is quite non descript. Look for the building number, not a large hotel sign. I rarely come to a welcoming and honey hotel, but that's what it is. The girls on staff ( they all look young to me ) always smile and have no attitude. You have to remove shoes and wear provided slippers at the front, just like a home. The place is brightly lit, has clean modern decor, clearly has a woman's touch, and is the better for it. The room and bathroom are modern, clean, and yet somewhat minimalist, or jspanese-ish, with everything lower to the raised floor. I saw 2 other rooms ... One had a fantastic wide series of windows facing the road,( mine faced next building so no view but can at least check if raining) , another had less space than mine. The only issue I have is the mattress is on the floor so getting up and down is a hassle for me. They let me keep my bike in the reception \ eating area. It's plenty safe. Loved the place. I tried to book for a later weekend but it was already booked out. This is the sort of place that could be spoiled by too many good reviews. It is fantastic. The low price is just the cherry on top.
