The Capra Saas-Fee

I had received a gift voucher for this hotel and was looking forward to a super weekend in the Swiss Alps: An unforgettable stay! Let's start from the point that I have seen some people criticise the price: I don't agree, the price is absolutely in line for a Swiss 5 star considering that March is high season. I live in Switzerland and I can assure you that there are 5-star hotels much more expensive than this one. One of the hotel's greatest strengths is its customer care: from check-in, with a drink on offer, to check-out, with small refreshments to take away for the journey, the guest is 100% pampered! Everyone is always very friendly and smiling. The hotel is a recent construction but has been done in Alpine style in wood: magnificent. The room simply WOW!!! All in wood with a living part and a sleeping part. A small cake is also offered in the room on arrival. The room was really exceptional, also the bathroom in a mix of wood and stone from the mountains. Great “Soeder” Swiss products. The Spa can be easily reached already wearing a bathrobe although located in another building, very nice with two swimming pools (outdoor and indoor). It has to be admitted that as it is not large, the outdoor pool can get crowded after ski hours. For those who want to try a further experience, I recommend the Private Spa: two hours of pure relaxation in complete tranquillity. If there is one thing I did not appreciate, although I found it classy, it was the à la carte breakfast. It can become nerve-wracking to keep having to order everything you want (although always brought in quite quickly). I have visited 2 other 5-star hotels in the past few months and I must say that breakfast, served buffet style, certainly beats that of the Capra. A wonderful stay that I would recommend to all lovers of high standard facilities in the mountains! And don't forget Saas-Fee is the village in the ‘Last Christmas’ video!!!
