I stayed at Ekbackens for two weeks in January 2021 and I would stay there again. The location is about 30 minutes walk from city centre but only 10 minutes from the sport centre and lake/swimming area. The location is surrounded by nature and I quite often saw deers coming back in the evenings. There is a train line running close by but it didn’t disturb me at all. The best thing about this place is the people who works there (specially Håkan). They were very friendly and accommodating to all my wishes. The rooms are very basic but comfortable. The communal areas were always clean and tidy. The showers had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The one thing I have to mention is to bring earplugs. The soundproofing in the rooms isn’t the best and the doors are quite loud when shutting (at least in the older part of the building). If you are a person that is happy with basic living accommodations and prefer nature over hustle and bustle of the city then I would recommend Ekbackens to you.
