Had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro. Location was excellent with a metro station and shopping mall just a two-to-three minute walk away plus it's a stop for the Haneda/Narita airport buses. There are tons of places to eat nearby. Check-in and out were fast and efficient. Room was nice and clean with a comfortable bed. Loved the in-room coffee/ta, mini-fridge, daily bottles of water, pajamas, and slippers. Bathroom was of average size and loved the non-foggable mirror though one day the toilet seat was not properly cleaned on the side 😤 (I cleaned it up myself with Clorox wipes.) Wi-fi worked fine. The hotel has several restaurants but on the more expensive side so only had the lunch buffet once, which was 3,900 yen. Hotel guests can have the dinner buffet for 4,200 yen on weekdays. The lunch buffet was plentiful and delicious 😋 There's also a laundry room with washer/dryer. The hotel has a convenience store and some other shops. There's a fitness club/pool but it's not free for hotel guests as they charge 2,200 yen to use it, which includes rental of exercise clothing/shoes but people with tattoos are not allowed in the pool! This should be free for hotel guests. The in-room phone sometimes did not work right. Staff were nice. This was a wonderful 4.5 stay so rounding up to 5.
