really enjoyed this hostel. stayed my last week here. cheap and the breakfast and food was delicious! best omelettes i ever had.
goodhearted host and owners with positive energy. perfect if u want to party or just relax outside. 
will come back there next time i go back to sri lanka 

Staying in Sahra's guesthouse was a highlight of our four week tour through Sri Lanka. We came to stay two nights and ended up staying five nights because there is a unique heartiness in Mangelika and her family! You will be welcomed with freshly made ginger tea and if you are lucky invited to their family's rice and curry in their kitchen. You experience a modest Sri Lankan life style with warmth and a lot of hospitality. Sahra speaks english and german and likes to help you as much as she can. It's contrary to the well touristically developped Hikkaduwa and inspiring if you see how generous these people are. The rooms are simple but you have everything that you need and a huge balcony where you can rest while listening to the sound of the ocean. To the beach it's propably 200m. The guesthouse is directly at the main road like most of the other guest houses as well. It can be noisy though. We rented us scooter and did many daytrips from Hikkaduwa as the base.
We highly recommend this guesthouse for the people and the whole-heartedness.

Very nice, comfortable and clean rooms with towels, soap and toilet paper without request, that makes a good impression. Super terrace with sea view. Sea beds on the beach and good surf school on the beach.

We spent 10 days at Sahra's in January 2015 and would highly recommend it.  Having stayed in 4 other hotels of varying prices and locations in Hikkaduwa we felt this was well priced for the standard of room and the location.  Our room (one of the front rooms closer to the beach) had good wifi (sometimes got switched off late at night) and a small but clean bathroom.  Over the 10 days we had a our room cleaned and beds changed once.  This was done at our request but I feel that they would have done this more regularly had we asked.

There are several hotels that are situated close to the all-night music venues and this one is a fairly good distance away from these for the sound not to bother you (unless you are a particularly light sleeper, in which case you probably should select a hotel away from the beach). 

The family who run the hotel are lovely and in 3 months of travelling around Sri Lanka and India they were the nicest and most welcoming hosts of all the places we stayed.  Should we return to Sri Lanka in the future we will certainly look to stay at Sahra's again.

Super clean room and nice stuff.

Great location, reasonable price, large clean room, lovely family

Really bad, just changed owner so don´t look at old reviews.
The room was not clean, we waited from 7:30 to 9:00 for our breakfast and when it came the bread was blue of mold, the juice machine was broken... and this is just some details.
