We stayed 8 nights here while competing in a 5-day orienteering competion over the New year 23/24. We sometimes needed breakfast early so we could travel to the venue for each day's event but Bettina was always happy to prepare breakfast even for 6.30 am. She was a mine of information; she had been on adventurous holidays in many parts of the country, soon understood our tastes and could recommend trips she knew we would like. Her memory for travel directions and places to stop off was encyclopaedic. A plate of sliced fruits was always available to start our breakfast, followed by a choice of 'English breakfast' or cold cuts and cheese, followed by toast and jam. She took the trouble to source decaffeinated coffee for me. Our room was comfortable and a fridge, microwave and kettle were available. We did not want to dine out every evening so Bettina recommended somewhere we could buy food which we ate at the dining table in comfort. We so enjoyed talking to her; it was clear she enjoyed meeting different people. I could go on...
