An amazing garden oasis in Constantia - De Verwaalde Boer is like a home away from home. Excellent accommodation, great facilities and fantastic hosts makes this a destination I will definitely return to. We enjoyed 5 nights in this magical place and found it very central to a host of world class restaurants, forests, beaches and wine estates. Highly recommended !

Amazing place to stay for a short or longer day close to Cape Town and the Southern Cape vineyards. Ultimate luxury, with swimmingpool, tennis court, spacious rooms and extremely friendly hosts. Don't forget the winecellar!

Two nights after our wedding. Stunning location, beautiful room (free upgrade). Hosts on hand and incredibly helpful. Made to feel very welcome and just wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived, we were 'wow-ed'! What a fantastic property with an amazing view. We spent the first 2 nights of our South African jaunt here just to relax and recharge the batteries and we certainly did that!

We stayed in the Hout Bay suite and enjoyed a soak in our Dutch hot tub on the first afternoon whilst sipping on a chilled glass of wine - paradise! Our room was lovely - great size, fantastic bathroom and a lovely deck area.

The pool area is lovely with good quality loungers and umbrellas if required. We were quite happy whiling away a few hours poolside!

The service was very good. The reviewer below who said that Petra and Jeroen were patronising must have been on another planet - they were lovely and extremely accommodating. 

The breakfast was fine with a good selection of fruits, cheeses, breads, meat and cooked eggs/bacon etc if wanted. We were definitely stuffed for the rest of the day! Soft drinks/coffees etc were available all day complimentary and a good selection of wines (all reasonably priced) were available to help yourself whenever you liked.

Our only slight niggle were that, despite the quality of the amenities and property, the plumbing system meant that whenever our neighbours turned on the tap/had a shower/flushed the toilet, we were blown away with the noise which was surprisingly really loud. It was made a lot worse when they decided to have showers at 1.30am on both nights we were there! Nevertheless, the rest of the property and the quality of our stay made up for it.

All in all, a great start to the holiday and we'd definitely return!

We spent nearly three weeks in this beautiful guesthouse set in immaculately maintained, landscaped and spacious grounds. The location in Upper Constantia is so peaceful and secure - one of the most sought after areas of the village. Architecturally a most attractive Dutch thatched Cape-style manor house built in 2008, the interior is furnished to the highest standard with a minimalist feel.
Just 7 suites in such a large property gives a sense of space and tranquility.
The hospitality from the delightful Dutch couple (Jerone and Petra) was exceptional - they bent over backwards to provide help and advice. The breakfasts were delicious and the light meal/snacks available throughout the day into the evening were very tasty, nicely presented and good value. similarly the honesty bar. The staff were also attentive and extremely friendly.
A lovely place to stay!!
