Penzion Max

Great "studio apartment" complete with kitchenette! Very clean and comfortable with balcony to relax in summer. Excellent location - only 5 minutes walk from railway station and 2 mins to a small supermarket which has wide selection of food/drinks. Useful microwave on room to heat up those snacks and a great fridge to keep those drinks cool! We'll stocked with utensils, plates, cups, glasses etc and a kettle to make that all important cup of tea in the morning!! On site restaurant open for season from 1 May - if arriving by road, ample car parking spaces - look at the pictures on the Penzion Max website - was going to post some of my own but these really show what Penzion Max has to offer and they show what you can expect in reality! Although I used Penzion Max as a handy base for some day trips by train, most guests come to Podhajska for the Thermal Baths. It's only 1hr 20mins by direct train from Bratislava (trains every 2 hrs) and even only 2 hours from Budapest with one change of train at Nové Zamky!!! With frequent service to Zvolen and Banska Bystrica, Podhajska and Penzion Max definitely makes a good base. With flights from London/Doncaster to both Bratislava/ Budapest for only £20, with Wizzair, each way - come to Penzion Max for a long weekend - a great "find" in a lesser known part of Slovakia.
