We spent one week at Montana.
We wanted a quiet, warm and welcoming place. We were 11 people from France so we booked the entire house. It was great, as if we were at home.
Alexandar and his wife are so kind and welcoming. The house is lovely, the food (fresh, homemade, different for each meal). 
It was exactly was we expected so spend a memorable time with family and friends.
We'll come back again, no doubt!

Amazing place,great hosts, delicious food. Everything is clean and well organized. You have a real mountain feeling, everything is made of wood, and a cool fireplace adds up to the atmosphere. We dont want to leave! :-)

I have stayed here twice, most recently in December 2017. Calling it a "hostel" does not do it justice, it's more like a bed-and-breakfast-and-dinner. You would be hard-pressed to find better value for money on Kopaonik. Montana is located in the "cottage village" (vikend naselje) of Kopaonik, which is about 5 km from the ski centre proper. You can take a taxi (all taxis have ski racks - price is about 600 dinars one way - the hosts will provide you a number of a reliable cab driver who will charge you a reasonable price), or use the shuttle bus of a large hotel next door (120 dinars one way per person). Either way it's a 10-15 min. drive (depending on the weather). It's possible to store your ski equipment at the resort itself next to the slopes so you don't have to haul it there and back every day. Even if you drive to Montana I suggest leaving your car parked in front during your stay as finding a parking spot at the ski resort is a pain and not free. Walking distance (5 min.) from Montana is a small grocery store and at least 2 pubs (that we found). Other stores and bars are available at the ski resort itself. The atmosphere is of a very homey mountain lodge - the place itself is beautiful, yet simple. A friend and I had a 3-bed room to ourselves. There are about 3 rooms per bathroom. Downstairs is a kitchen, dining area and lounge area with a comfy couch in front of a TV (lots of cable channels including HBO etc.) and a fireplace. The heating works great! The rooms are very warm. They also have balconies (at least upstairs) with beautiful views. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, they'll chat with you if you want or leave you be if you prefer peace and quiet. You can also buy a large selection of different Serbian craft beers. Wi-fi works great. The food is homey, hearty, tasty and filling. Ninoslav was our host during my second stay and I must say he is a great cook. All the food you get is home-made and freshly prepared with authentic local ingredients. If you have dietary restrictions make sure you talk to the hosts ahead of time since otherwise breakfast/dinner is a suprise :) always good though! The only bad thing is the sound insulation - you will hear the people in the room next to you. In a sentence - this place is great and I absolutely recommend it.

Our stay in Montana was one of my best hostel experiences :) Warm and friendly atmosphere, amazing hosts, beautiful living room with a fire place where we hanged out with other awesome guests, super delicious food, always waiting for us in the morning and again after we come back from skiing, I really couldn't ask for more :) Keep up the good jobs guys and see you again for sure :)

The only hostel I have been to where I have walked in (even at 5am) and felt right at home. We rented the two double bedrooms in our group of 4 and loved our experience in Montana. The guys are great! Really helpful before, with many emailed questions answered rapidly, during (many taxi's to be ordered) and after (when we accidentally took the transfer drivers coat!). They are also great at socialising but not being too intrusive. The hostel itself is LUSH. The rooms are perfectly sized, comfortable and it is always warm with amazing views. And the food - meals were always 30mins from stepping in the door from a day of boarding. I wouldn't hesitate at all in going back and as much as I want to keep this place a secret- if you're going to Serbia stay at Montana! Its a must.
