Hôtel Résidence La Corniche

I'll give this place 4 stars for several reasons , first it's super clean, second it's very convenient to get to downtown and mid way to the Almadies area, then for comfort. The rooms are spacious with a small living room, fridge in room TV and decent service, the included breakfast is ok nothing major but fresh breads and pastries, juices etc.. Location can be a bit noisy if facing the major street, AC is a bit limited but ok, bedding average and bed is hard. Wi-Fi is decent. Dakar is expensive for hotels, this hotel offers the best rates for the type of room you get and for the area of "la corniche" walking distance from the main statue and also the beach mosque. Overall not a bad place considering you are in Africa. Some rooms offer balconies but it's a bit dusty in Dakar so not worth the time. Nothing near the hotel for food, but hotel has a small restaurant, bar and has drinks for sale. Access to hotel is a bit weird and it's best to reach from the top and walk down the stairs as you come across the round about. Catching cabs is convenient at the round about. I've stayed here several times in the past 13 months and have not had a bad experience yet. Always keep expectations lower in Africa then you get surprised from time to time.
