35 reviewsGood stay, excellent value for money and we would stay there again. The pensiunea is ideally situated in the Lower Old Town at most a couple of hundred metres from the Bridge of Lies so an easy (if uphill) stroll to the main squares and attractions of Sibui.. Free on-street parking is available throughout the immediate area and in our case, right outside the door. The pensiunea was popular with bikers because they could park up off the street in the courtyard. The pensiunea is accessed through one of the typical long narrow private courtyards of the Old Town and comprises a few rooms over a couple of floors with a reception area where breakfast (if ordered) could be taken if it was raining and a comfortable outside seating area where it was served if dry (as it seems to be most of the time.) Our room was on the first floor served by its own external wooden staircase up which no one was going to surprise us in the night. There was a narrow but long balcony with table and chairs and a view over the jumble of roofs up to the various church towers: an excellent place for pipe fuelled contemplation of a late afternoon. The room itself was large comprising a sleeping area (as big as most hotel rooms,) and a sitting area of similar size as well as a rather tight bathroom. It was clean and equipped with a fridge which was very useful. Wifi worked well. Curtains on the window alongside the bed were thick but the fully glazed door was without a blind though the glass was smoked. Hopefully, we did not shock any nosy neighbours, if there were any, when visiting the loo in the middle of the night! With the window open, which was possible because there was minimal traffic and other noise despite the central location, the room was not too stuffy to sleep in though the bed was rather lumpy. The very helpful and pleasant lady who ran the place provided additional towels and changes of sheets whenever a request was made and presented us with an excellent breakfast each morning, tea or coffee (or both) yoghurt, bread and plum jam, omelette, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, cold sausage and ham and cheeses: a real cornucopia; in fact we skipped lunch (one tends to eat too well in Romania anyway,) as my wife made what she could not eat into a sandwich for later! Gripes are minor: the lumpy bed (but I find all beds uncomfortable,) and a shower door that would not close properly and led to a bit of floor flooding.
