The first thought on arrival was: Where we came from:( But then we took it to the room, a clean room, comfortable beds, a balcony overlooking the lake. There is a possibility to have breakfast for an extra fee, we didn't use it. The fridge in the common corridor, common. On the second floor there is a common kitchen, all dishes, teacup, microwave. Toast can be prepared if you want not only for breakfast. On the street there is a small children's cloak, kano, ordinary boats, vella and vests, all this is free. On the street there is a mangal, you can fry meat. The lake is clean, sandy bottom. The city with a lot of cafes is in 5 minutes. There was a railway that could go through. There was a train that could stay for two days.

It's a great place, it's going to be a long review.

Private parking is available and inside the grounds of the hotel. A clean and comfortable room with good wifi. Quite basic but the location on the edge of the lake is truly amazing. Nature is abundant with cuckoos calling in the evening and early morning. Hand wash and body shower wash are provided. The rooms share a long balcony overlooking the lake and canoes and small boats are available to use. There is no bar but beer is available. A fridge and kitchen is available for guests to use. The centre is a 25 minute walk away with restaurants and bars. Take insect repellent if you plan sitting out at night as there are a lot of midges. Breakfast is served at each table with ham, bread coffee, tea etc. Freshly prepared scrambled ages are also served. Delicious. The owners are very friendly and attentive. All of this for the price is incredible. Would return and definitely recommend.

Absolute tranquility

when we arrived in mragowo we had been driving for 5 hours and the temperatures were about 38°. a friendly lady (the owner?) welcomed us  and showed us our room. the house felt cool and whehn we entered the room we saw that we were directly at the lake. that was exactly what we needed!! breakfast was ok, lots of restaurants in the town.

A stylish little hotel with cozy rooms, a well-equipped public kitchen, picnic area and, most importantly, an outlet to a beautiful lake. Here you can take boats or kayaks, friendly owners will tell you where to buy fishing gear - here's the rest option! Breakfast is full, owners are ready to take into account special requests (don't torment vegetarians with sausages).

A wonderful vacation in nature

We felt comfortable in this nice boarding house. It was very quiet here. The room was large with a very large balcony. A large kitchen with complete facilities, a large refrigerator and a dining table with chairs we could use. On the large plot we had no problem parking our car. The house is right by the lake and even has a small private beach. The breakfast was quite simple and at 5 euros per person was too expensive. We would arrange this ourselves the next time. All in all, but the positive overcomes.

Pleasant and friendly pension

A spacious room for three or four people. Clean, cheap. Great view of the lake. You can see the sunrise, sunset, half a fish. Good for a weekend.

It's comfortable.

We stayed at this family-run hotel for a week in July 2008 and would highly recommend it for families looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday which is also very good value. 

Mrągowo is a quiet, low-key town in the Mazurian lake district in the North East of Poland. The town is well-placed for touring the area, either by car or public transport and has several bars and restaurants. The area is particularly good for water-sports and cycling. We travelled there from Gdansk by train, which is slow, taking about 4 ½ hours. The station is 2 ½ kilometres from the hotel, but there were taxis waiting at the station when we arrived. 

Zielony Domek (‘Green House’) is a converted fisherman’s cottage by the small quiet lake Juno, about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Mrągowo, but only 10 minutes walk from a good supermarket. The owners have recently built a new wing consisting of 12 guest rooms, simply furnished, but spacious and very clean, all with patio doors onto balconies overlooking the lake. Outside there is a lawn and a small sandy beach and to the side a sandpit and playground suitable for younger children. There is a restaurant serving good value, good quality food all day. Breakfasts are optional, and there is a kitchen with a hob, fridge-freezer and microwave for the shared use of guests.

There are two 2-man kayaks and two rowing boats for guests to use. The kayaking is easy as the lake is calm and quiet, and we found it idyllic kayaking around the lake, paddling along the rushes lining the banks, spotting dragonflies and families of coots and grebes. Bicycles can be hired in the village and kept at the hotel; there is a network of local cycle-paths and a cycling map available in the tourist-office in the town.

The owners, Zosia and Jarek, generate a lovely atmosphere and work very hard to make everything just right, while allowing guests their privacy. The staff are all very friendly, as are the family dog and cat! The owners speak English and so do some of the younger local people, but many locals don’t speak any English, so we would recommend learning some basic Polish before you go, for getting by on public-transport and in shops.
