614 reviewsWe only booked this hotel (a Jet2 City Break) around a week before our 4 night stay, mainly due to the price and location. We were so glad we did!! The location was ideal, very close to the railway station and public transport routes, and just a couple of minutes walk from the Market Square and all the Old Town attractions. The hotel itself is very traditional and charming, dating originally from the 1830's. The staff were very welcoming upon our arrival, and check-in was a breeze. Our triple room on the second floor was large and roomy, with a view out onto the surrounding area. The bed was a good size and very comfortable. Wardrobe and storage space was ample, and the bathroom was very well appointed. The rooms were made up daily, and left clean and organised. There is a lift between floors, and also a grand staircase in reception. Breakfast can be booked in advance or on a daily basis, and is of a buffet style with both hot and cold options, cereal and fruit, tea and coffee or soft drinks available, plenty of choice for everyone. There is no bar or evening meal service, but that was fine for us, as everything we needed was just around a corner or a couple of minutes walk away. The staff were excellent and very professional, any questions or information we required was provided to the best of their knowledge, and always with a smile. Luggage can also be left after checkout and collected later if necessary. A very nice and welcoming traditional hotel, and we wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future., as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
