Casa Bahia Dive Resort

I was able to finished my Rescue Diving Course while staying in this resort and they made the whole experience easier and and so much fun. The divers are well fed and very well rested. Thank you so much:)

Scuba divers paradise. A small, quaint but simple hotel with amazing scuba diving and snorkeling. Inexpensive all inclusive resort which included unlimited tanks, classes, gear (if needed), Filipino cuisine and laid back ambiance with stellar views. You can choose to just shore dive/snorkel off their house reef or hire a guide and boat crew for a nominal fee to take you to over 50 amazing dive sites. The crew did everything, which was a huge perk to carrying tanks and gear and our guide (who has over 5,000 dives in this location) picked beautiful areas for our 4x a day dives in some of the most lively reefs I've ever seen. 

It was so long since I write a review of a place. I couldnt describe the hotel or the place that much, the only thing I can say is that “if you wont try diving, better not to stay.. Hotel is for divers only. Funny thing about our stay was, when we arrived at 6pm and having a buffet dinner, the pantry was so full of guest, we had to line up and wait for our turn to get some food, same scenario during breakfast the next day, when we were having lunch, i noticed that our group is the only one in the pantry area, we realized everyone is in the ocean to dive!! We didnt bother to try it cause its a bit pricey i must say.. although. I cant deny that the hotel is really really nice and the 3rd floor is so majestic!! We actually stayed up late just chillin.. room was really good, its cold and they also have hot and cold shower, bed is customized, we were a group of 8 people and we fit in!! Food was also good, so probisya! Staff are vert friendly.. I would go back to try diving!! 

Stayed 2 nights for a weekend divecation. Booked via their FB page and further communications via SMS. They charge on a per person/per night basis with full-board meals (lunch-dinner-bfast-lunch). Food is home-cooked meals and it was okay. We got a room with a king-size bed, it has an upper bed so can still accommodate up to 4 people max. But the room itself was small, can be quite difficult to move around esp with your things on the floor. The aircon was cold, the bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom is equipped with hot & cold shower. The staff cleans the room everyday. There were intermittent power interruptions during our stay, but good thing they have a generator. 

They have their own dive center so a plus for divers. We only did freediving. 

Excellent overall rating because of:
- clean, comfortable room, bed
- full-board home-cooked meals (soup, rice, 2 viands, dessert)
- friendly and accommodating staff
- free wifi access to the dining area. Weak signal in the room

- accessible to the beach (a few meters away from Arthur’s Rock, a popular dive spot).

I discovered Casa Bahia when I signed up in the Dive Resort Travel event. I signed up for a dive certification course and this resort provided the accommodation and gears. It was very relaxing to stay in Casa Bahia because of the comfy and stylish benches outside the rooms. Perfect for lounging and enjoying the sea breeze. Their dive shop is complete and the gears are well maintained. If you're not a diver, you can also rent the snorkeling gear. Their meals are super yummy... and I love their ube carioca. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. I'd definitely come back for a weekend getaway. 

Casa Bahia is a dive resort that hosts trainings and intro dive program apart from the regular diving activities. The resort itself is quaint with about 18 rooms but with varying sizes that can host single guests to families. Rooms in this resort are smaller than usual resorts. This is because it is primarily a dive resort where guests spend more time at sea than in the resort. They do, however, host non-divers as well since the resort has a homey atmosphere where one can just sit back, relax, watch the sunset and lay back to gaze at the stars at night. 
Casa Bahia has a wonderful view of the bay having 3 roof decks where guests can enjoy the sun, wind and the view. This is so perfect for after dive drinks and conversations, to unwind and just be. 

Casa Bahia has a well equipped dive center that provides everything you need. Staff are ever so helpful and attentive, taking care of all the things one will need for dive trips. Option to have lunch served on the boat is also available where luch is packed in bento boxes. And the most wonderful perk is the hot chocolate provided on the boat. Not instant, mind you, but the traditional tsokolate batirol of Batangas. Yummy! 

On a recent trip, I also found out that the dive center staff has been given training as divers and has gained certification from RAID (Casa Bahia is an official partner of RAID). This is good to know as it gives one the feeling that any of the staff is knowledgable and able to explain the techinicalities of diving. And it is also a great reflection of the management of the resort to have staff advance in their professions. 

The owners and staff of Casa Bahia are so nice! They are so hospitable and warm and they attend to all your needs. Meals are served family style or buffet, depending on the number of groups in the resort. Food is mostly home cooked, familiar viands and desserts which is delicious and will definitely make you feel at home.

Diving Course Experience

A budget, Scuba Diver hotel which would benefit from some TLC (Tender Loving Care). My tiny single room , had a view of a construction site. This could be addressed by some charming decoration like beautiful photos of Anilao sea life . I think that’s my main problem with the property. It has amazing potential but needs a basic decorator to refresh the vision. The really obvious rusting and run down deco can be affordably replaced. Decor of main dining room is a strange, dusty mix of Buddhist and Catholic art. Lacking a design concept. 

If you are expecting nothing but a solid bed, hot water and decent food then Casa Bahia may work. 

The dive instructors are excellent.
