We arrived at night and it was raining so we didn't have the chance to look for a room. A taxi driver brought us here (possible getting a percentage). We paid 50 soles for a double room, we chose the room on the ground floor.
Rooms smelled weird, beds are clean, bathrooms are dirty but hot water is 24 hrs. Wifi is very fast. No breakfast.

Also, it's very near plaza de armas.

The tour company is called Quilla Imperio accociated with the hostal.  We selected this tour company amongst so many in and around Cusco as we thought they were reliable and honest.  Also we mistakenly thought it was Imperios which had excellent rating on Trip Advisor.

Breakfast and lunch was included in the tour as well as pick up and drop off at the hotel.  They told us it would take 3 hours to destination with stop for breakfast.  Then 2-1/2. to 3 hours up the mountain depending on capability and how attitude affect each individual.  There was option of horse hire up the mountain.  Then we would spend approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours at the top of the mountain before descending down for lunch. 

We were supposed to depart at 4am and was asked to be ready in our hotel reception by 3:50am.  They didn’t show up till 4:10am and we had to walk to the coach. Then the coach roam around for almost an hour picking people up before we got on our way.  We didn’t get to our breakfast stop till 8:30am.

Breakfast was a joke!  It was in an open make shift area in the freezing cold, see image.  We didn’t have high expectations but stale bread and few pieces of fruit!

The guide spoke minimal English and we were herd to the top and down the mountain without any regard for our well being and how the attitude affected us.  We did have trouser breathing and was of course to the hike up which was quite strenuous. 

We err all back at the coach before 1pm and didn’t depart till 2pm.  They speed down the mountain not caring for our safety and there were many hair pun turns on a rocky and bumpy road.  We didn’t arrive at the same destination we had breakfast at for lunch at 3:30pm. Lunch was okay but was like warm. We was so hungry at that point we would have ate anything!

They picked up 2 random travellers for USD50.  As they have not washed for 10 days so smelt bad (like tramps).  So we had to ensure the whole return ride with the smell. 

We arrive 6:30pm at Cusco and they dropped us 20 mins away from our hotel.  We had to find our own way back. 

Don’t choose this tour company!!

Worst Tour Ever - Beware!

Likes: Coca tea provided on table in court yard, how the courtyard looked. The location was convenient, only a 6-8 minute walk to the Plaza de armas. The only downside to the location was the stairs + high altitude.

Dislikes: This was my second time in Cusco and I love hostels, but this did NOT meet any level of comfort. This place was also newly disguised as "Hospedaje En Barrio San Blas Cusco" on booking dot com and I fell for it. 

The mattresses are unpleasant. They are stained and so are the clean sheets and pillows. I've never slept on such an uncomfortable mattress. I woke up with sore muscles from the mattress. I could feel all of the springs and the thinness of the mattress from years of wear and tear. It was also FREEZING in the room. I could see my own breath.

While it's understandable that the concrete walls will remain cold during winter the room was cold but humid at the same time. The warm showers promised were NEVER warm, they were always cold even when the water heater was turned on. I waited an entire 45 minutes for the shower to spurt out warm water but it never did. There was no hospitality here. You can tell they don't care about your stay and they didn't even remember us coming in and out of the hostel. No reliable wifi and one time when I used the shared computer again, they told me they turned off the internet connection for it for the day.

PLEASE STAY AWAY

I left my clothes there to the laundry service. They ruined my t-shirt completely  so I can't use it anymore. When I went there to get a refund they didn't give any and the service was the worst ever, so evasive ("It wasn't me doing your laundry anyway, it was the other lady"). The fact, that before I got the laundry they couldn't unsee the pink stains on my white t-shirt and still just folded it and handed it to me like nothing, is the worst part. So un-professional. You don't even get any receipt to have evidence that you did your laundry there so they will just say that they cannot know if it was there or some other place... NOT RECOMMENDED !!!

NEVER DO LAUNDRY HERE

Dirty hotel, not helpful people and the breakfast was disgusting. Never go there, so many better places in Cuzco ! And if you want to stay a bit more you need to pay a lot...
Really disappointed, no one should go to this hostal !
