32 reviewsOur family stayed at Vallecito for 3 night in January. Room was lovely and clean, wiut a liuttle verandah, food was good, the host was fantastic. The hotel is a beautiful old house, which is simple and elegant. The host was the highlight: he was very helpful, to the point where he actually took a taxi to the 'terrestrial' bus station on the far side of town to buy our bus tickets for Puno on our behalf (as he thought we may find the place a bit confusing! ) Also provided all the information we wanted about anything, and was happy to tolerate my very poor Spanish, but spoke good English if required. (I did see the other review with a comment on the price of laundry: you can just walk 30m to the corner and there is a laundry there, with a lovely, friendly lady who has abosutely no English, but it's just laundry, so not much room for misunderstanding.) I would highly recommend Casa Vallecito for travellers who want something mid-range.
