The island of Rovaer, located about 25 minutes by boat west of Haugesund, is a marvelous stop in time. If Norway's SO coast is already spectacular, the island of Rovaer offers the visitor a truly exceptional peace and quiet. For those who subscribe to these lines, I have never before stayed in a hotel located in such a special environment. With its small boat launch and its bucolic rooms, I can say that the hotel is unique in its class, being a must-visit point if we are in the area. Musicians and writers will find in it an ideal retreat for seeking inspiration, and familiar pesos, the children will enjoy a lovely lounge, considering that on the island there are almost no cooks. If the hotel is the location of the movie, the peaceful accommodation is a remarkable tribute to the history of the island, and I think that by visiting the surrounding area, we can help to discover the best of all, and by exploring the natural surroundings of the island, we can make sure that we can enjoy the best of all.

An idyllic hotel on an idyllic island.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We really liked the room: many windows overlooking the strait and the green rooms where the sheep graze. The situation was modern, everything is in good condition. In the room there was a large and modern bathroom with a clean bathroom, everything was very clean. In the room there was no TV, but we didn't need the atmosphere.

Charming hotel on a small island

There's a great little foot passenger ferry to get to the island that costs around 52NOK per person.

Then the hotel is easy to find with a short walk across the bridge.

We met two ladies working there who were both friendly and helpful.

Our room was modern and clean and had a view over the water. Great powerful shower in the bathroom.  

There was a little nice welcome chocolate on the bed too!

There are no televisions in the room which was fine with us as we wanted to read and relax.

The food in the restaurant for dinner was freshly cooked and delicious! Fresh fish soup and a really good baked cod with vegetables.

Breakfast was simple but good.

All round really liked this place.

Saw that it had a hot tub too...don't know if it was for guests, we didn't ask....might be worth asking! :)

Lovely little retreat

It's a great place, stayed for a day, rooms are clean, cozy, staff are friendly, I really liked the restaurant, the seafood, the hot food, the wine, it felt like home, especially the street jacuzzi, and you can buy souvenirs that remind you of the island and the hotel.

Business trip.

Go to Røvær - the island west of Haugesund with its cosy and familiar "culture-hotel" and you will not regret!  Fish from the pier two meters outside your bedroom window, or just ask one of the local lads, and he will probably take you fishing at rough seas! Enjoy the nature and hospitality of the vast Norwegian west coast!

Nature, culture and comfort - go to Røvær,

Røvær is a nice little island where you always feel welcome. I had my wedding party at the hotel where we gathered lovely memories for a lifetime. The atmosphere was very romantic and idyllic. All my guest had a nice time. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We have beautiful wedding pictures with the beautiful landscape as background.

I've stayed at the Kulturhotell on Rovaer island. Reached by ferry from Haugesund. If you're looking for stunning landscape and peace and quiet look no further. The rooms are clean and simple but comfortable
