The couple who runs the hostel is so nice. I felt like they were my parents. They really care about guests. 
Rooms are clean, with ac and fan, towels and soap. We had a double room for 30$ en suite. The best deal in town. Free coffee in the morning. It is centrally located, next to everything. We are two travelers and dorms were the same.price elsewhere as what we paid for a private room, except that you didn't have a towel and ac. Rooms are far from the street so you don't really hear the noise. It is quiet. I highly recommend and I really want to thank our hosts for their dedication!

Me and my friend stayed at Javiers House for over two weeks in May/June. We had a 4bed dorm to ourselves the entire time and it was cleaned every day, same with the toilets and showers. Breakfast (yum!) is included. The hostel is super central, which was perfect. It's not a party place and might lack a bit of an atmosphere but it's so close to everything, you won't be missing out. You'll even be glad to have a quite place in this crazy town. The owners/staff are simly lovely. I got sick by the end of my stay and the way they cared for me and helped me was incredible. I felt very much at home and would highly recommend this place.

Stayed here for a week leading up to Semana Santa and had a great time. Excellent location and all of the staff were super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. 

Lockers are available and there is always someone at the entrance so that only people staying there are allowed in. It is a very secure spot and a great option if you are looking for a quieter alternative to the party hostel scene but still want to be close to the action!

Very chill hostel with a nice little smoking area, 10 bed dorm has 3 fans mounted on the roof so the ventilation is good. They are constantly cleaning the place so its never dirty, and Javier has a convenient cheap food stand out the front. When I return to San Juan I'll come to Javiers.

The pictures aren't accurate. There are two dorms that don't have good ventilation so make sure you are in one of the bigger ones. And that you have a blanket because it gets chilly at night (they only give you a sheet). The place is standard. There are other places that are better for the same price but this place isn't bad. 

It was ok

I woke up in the middle of the night because I felt something.. I felt so uncomfortable in the bunk bed in one of the dorms where I was sleeping that I turned on my flashlight and saw the bed was completely invested with bed bugs! When I told the owner he said they would do something about and then I just saw his staff making up the bed for the next guest.. A disgrace. I had to bring all my belongings to the dry cleaner to get it exterminated. She asked if I came from Javier's house as she said she receives customers who come from this hostel with bedbugs weekly..
