Was debating whether or not to leave a review of this place, but I thought after everything, people deserve to know this tale of intrigue.
It's not that I had a bad stay, per se, just an extremely uncomfortable one. The appetizer was the usual hostel things: when I was shown my room, the beds had clearly not been cleaned since the last guests. The girl who was working there also omitted to show me how to turn on the ceiling fan, and to tell me that one of the toilets wasn't flushing. (More on her later.) There was dog turd on the floor.
I am used to staying in very budget hostels with basic amenities so these things didn't bother me too much. Things grated a little more when the wifi went down and also having to ring the bell at least twice until somebody lets you back in the building. It was pretty evident that the people working there were unmotivated.
All was revealed the second evening when as I was waiting for a friend to pick me up, the young man 'in charge' accosted me and started telling me about his terrible relationship with the girl, that she hated me because she was jealous, and that the hostel owner had the hots for him. It dawned on me that he was drunk, then he went to buy more beers. As he got more drunk, he started being creepy towards me, until eventually he was falling on me trying to kiss me. Then he tried to make stovetop noodles, practically setting the utensils on fire. He accused me of being a typical white girl who doesn't like poor central American men. I would have left there and then if it wasn't already dark outside. I was genuinely wondering whether outdoors or in was more dangerous.
Eventually after calling him several times, the owner lady and the girl came back to find the place in a state (he had knocked things over) and barely acknowledged me or the fact that I had pretty much stopped him setting the place on fire. After finding him in bed they left.
I don't enjoy leaving long whiney reviews but this was just a very bizarre experience, and I'm sure it was a one off but I sincerely hope the management will be a bit more hands-on if they are truly passionate about the business, ensure their staff are motivated and can understand cultural differences a bit more. This truly was a Pandora's box of dark, suppressed hostel issues.

Pandora's box of problems

I have stayed at Pandora 4 times, each time it has been clean and comfortable, the staff are kind and helpful, the common area is cool and comfortable, and most of the other guests are great! Dorms or private rooms are good and not much of a price difference. You have to pay for AC.

Cosy comfy and great staff

This is a cool hostel. They have a huge common area with couches and chairs to lounge in. They also have a TV and hookah available for purchase. The best part is their dog, Lili. She's adorable and so fun to play with. She came and layed in our bed with us (we miss our dogs) HOWEVER, the lady who works in the mornings was very rude. She refused to call us a taxi and said we had to go out on the street to get one..... And in the morning when we said we wanted to purchase the breakfast she was very abrupt and seemed annoyed saying we couldn't order for half an hour or order coffee for half an hour either. Other than that the rooms are decent. We stayed here twice and I liked our first room better (big with two twin beds) the second rooms bed was super lumpy. The guy who works evenings is very helpful and a super nice guy. He was totally accomadating and even told us there are free mangos outside because they have a tree!

I was taken back by the reviews on hostelworld, but was so exhausted from the Tica Bus I decided to go with two friends I met from The Netherlands and El Salvador to stay the night.  Turns out, location was great, was able to see a beautiful sunrise thanks to a recommendation by Hostel Employee Marvin. Then, went on an amazing adventure for the day.  Thankful to have Pandora and Marvin on my journey!

Convenient, Good Host, and Met Two Amazing People!

I stayed 1 night at a private room during my trip to Costa Rica. I found the hostel and room very clean, with cool common areas, the staff is very friendly and communicative, but most importantly their location. Conveniently close to the Ticabus terminal, not too far from a mall, and in a nice suburb. 4/5 because the $10 for AC seems a bit too much and because the Wi-Fi network didn't cover my room (at the end of the building.

We were at Pandora hostel for 3 boxes, and we can definitely recommend, adi, marvin y noelle very nice and they were willing to answer all our questions and help us. they told us some details but nothing important. guys, we managed to get to Tegucigalpa and take the flight!! thank you x the concern.

Excellent hostel. Free shuttle service to the airport or to the Transporte del Sol bus terminal (for travel to El Salvador or Nicaragua).

Pandora is a super friendly hostel for a quiet arrival managed by the staff is super attentive and special service thanks to Kevin for the good wave and service...I highly recommend 100/ Noelia and his wonderful team.. they were expecting me to be first class in coming here with hospitality thanks and until the next...pure life good vives.

From the hostel, an airport taxi was arranged for us; the driver welcomed us and drove us safely to the hostel. Unfortunately without our luggage, which was stuck in Amsterdam. Very friendly reception at the hostel. Reception is available 24 hours a day. Rooms were clean and conveniently furnished. Unfortunately, there were 10 dollars for A/C; fans, but quite noisy. W-Lan was stable and free compared to other hostels. Two different breakfasts to choose from, Continental was delicious! Drinks are available 24 hours a day at the reception. Regarding our lost luggage, we were very supported - thank you!

Almost a perfect start to the journey

Very attentive, good location close to a shopping mall. Very close to the international bus station. You can get to the city center in a few minutes! They have a relaxing area with movies and plenty of board games for you if you decide to spend a quiet afternoon.
