We stayed there with our children in a four-bedroom cottage with a private spa pool as well as a private car garage at the top of our cottage was called the kiwi cottage. Spacious it has all the comforts a family can expect. Outside there is a nice heated swimming pool. Nearby there is a shopping center.

I can't forget it.

What a gem of a place this is! Spent two nights here and found it to be very comfortable and conveniently located in central Rotorua. Upon arrival we were greeted by Kristin who was a font of knowledge in regard to local attractions. Kristin’s husband Stuart then arrived and offered us smoked trout, freshly caught, cleaned and smoked by the man himself - delicious! The apartment was very well appointed and in easy walking distance to the centre of town, restaurants and bars. A great stay!

Great location and wonderful hosts!

A great stay in Rotorua! Kind hosts. Check-in was actually at 6pm but the road from Coromandel took us a bit longer than expected, so the hosts made an exception to check us in at 6.30 (we felt bad about this though, as that’s normally their cooking/dinner time). Make sure to stay in touch with the hosts, prior to arrival, that is the most helpful.

You could theoretically eat from the floor: it’s super clean!
Breakfast is put in the fridge the day before, so you can have it whenever it suits you best. 

Location is good, just a 10 minute walk to Eat Street and close to the Polynesian Spa (where we’d recommend booking a 30 minute private spa overlooking the lake). 

On your way there, make sure to visit Blue Springs, about 45 minutes away from here. A super awesome short walk with the nicest clear blue water. Google it! It’s less known but we thought it was a real highlight (and we’ve seen dozens of the more famous highlights across NZ!).

Kind hosts, clean and large room, good breakfast, super location

Excellent stay at East West. We were only there a couple of nights but it was great. Kristin especially was a highlight. She is a font of local knowledge and was able to get us discounting kayaking trip and recommend excellent restaurants. She is really friendly and warm and a great host.

They also gave us some freshly caught and smoked trout which was so thoughtful. We would highly recommend this place to stay at. If you are after activities speak to Kristin as she knows the best ones and the ones to avoid.

Great stay - lovely host!

Hi we stayed with Kristin and Stuart for 4 nights.  The property is located a short walk from Rotoruas i site office and within walking distance of Polynesian spa and redwoods forest. Kristin is lovely and very welcoming she can’t do enough for you during your stay. The facilities are excellent and there is a self catering option for breakfast which is a nice touch. Overall our experience was excellent. So glad we stayed I would highly recommend staying here. 


Rotorua stopover

Sometimes it's the hosts that make your stay so welcoming,  Kristin & Stuart were wonderful and very helpful with suggestions of where to go and things to see. We also got to try Stuart's home smoked trout which was a treat and daily breakfast goodies was an added bonus. Great walk around the lake from here and ended up at Eat Street with an easy walk back to apartment. We were out everyday all day so a comfortable bed is a must which is what we enjoyed.

Enjoyed our stay at East West

We spent 2 nights. 8-10.11.2016. when we settled in, we gave a lot of brochures with a 10% discount. The hotel has bicycles that are very convenient.

It's like home.

Our stay in the East West in a cottage that was called the kiwi cottage with a private spapool attached to the cottage, a heated outdoor pool.

It's great.

We were in the Kiwi Pavilion, with our own Jacuzzi and garden with covered and heated terrace. What more could we ask for? The rooms are very large and impeccable. The one we had was perfectly well designed to accommodate a disabled person. It was fully equipped to accommodate anyone in a wheelchair, including the bathroom. As soon as we arrived, our guests were really helpful, they booked us a kayak canoe tour and Kristen was busy booking our Hangi party for us even before we left England. During our stay, Kristin and Stuart were hoping to get their quality label, I hope they got it because their B&B truly deserves this distinction.

The rooms are beautiful.

We stayed at the Kiwi Cottage. We had our own thermal pool, and a garden with patio and outside heating. What else could you ask for? The accommodation was very large and perfectly clean. It would have been perfectly suited for a disabled person: it was fully equipped for the accessibility of a wheelchair (including the bathroom). The managers were extremely available, they organized the rafting for us as soon as we arrived and, before we left for the UK, Kristen also organized a night at Qual Hangi. While Kristin and Stuart were there they were hoping to get the recognitionmark  I hope they had it because they definitely deserve a positive judgment.
